Hey everyone, I am somewhat new to 40K, and lately I've thought of making an ork army to complement my Tau army. (most notably in terms of close combat and heavy vehicles)
...and Iv'e been curious about 2 vehicles that I have never ever seen in stores, except like 6 years ago or something. I'm talking about the Wartrakk and Warbuggy. They're only available online, and I have never seen them on the field. THey do look a bit old, especially the way the pilots are sculpted..
So my main question is: Are they good? Are they useful? Are they outdated?...
Give them rockets and they are awesome in a fast list. You have limited ability to knock out tanks at range. This important as mech armies can keep you out of base to base contact for a couple of turns giving them a reasonable fire before you can kill them. St8 is needed, st7 of lootas for weak tanks is ok but you can not try glancing av13 to death, av14 just has to be ignored in the ork codex. Ignoring landraiders is fine as you can concentrate on everything else and a 'raider is so many points but not so deadly to orks.
Buggies are soft but numerous and cheap. They can hit and can get 4+ cover save from a kff. Usually things like they are inv. to poison and lasguns and they can not but stuck in combat are all advantages.
Make your own models if you do not like GWs outdated attempt. These are such a toy store buy really
the easiest (and cheaper?) conversion is to take AoBR deffkoptas, chop teh skis and put wheels under them (legos can work, i used 40k ork trukk wheels)
