Hey Miniwargamers,

So I wasn't sure as to if I should of posted this in Chaos space marines or here, as I need some chaotic tips as to converting and modelling. So here is the deal, I am going to Apocalypticon this year (the huge apoc battle Miniwargaming has) and I have been allowed to bring my chaos space marines (10000pts) and my ,what will be, 6000 pts or there about of converted Traitor imperial guard. The question is this:

I have about 60 catachan guardsmen that need to be chaos-ified(?) And I need your help to decide on how to convert and paint them!

These are some idea's I came up with:

1. Just like Salamanders, i.e. a complete dark world, make up fluff and paint there skin jet black with red eyes for a slight "demonic" look.

2. Head swaps, I have about 30 pig iron gas mask heads.

3. Maybe mix in some WF chaos marauder bits

So do you guys have any more idea's that could make these guys look really cool, and unique? I do have a budget so no extreme idea's. Also I want them to feel more cultist like, undivided. So not really aligned to any one god, like blood pact or nurgle guardsmen (zombies?)

just a suggestion on the eyes. perhaps a purple instead of red? the eye of Terror is often said as being purple, and the original inhabitants of Cadia where suspected of taint because they had purple eyes. this is just my personal opinion so ignore it if you will but plain red seems a little 'tame' for 40k evil but if your dead set on red may i suggest some sort of odd highlight for the eyes. i'm thinking something along the Fremen blue within blue in Dune or the glowing eyes of the vampires in the Underworld series.
just a suggestion though your plan will probably still look pretty sweet.

That could be cool, I wasn't nesecarily set on red, so the purple could be cool. I could also water down some purple and also apply it to the skin for a feint purple glow over the black.
