I ask this, because when reading the pulse rifle entry i noticed it mentions Plasma, does this mean a Plasma Syphon affects pulse weapons?

Things effected by the siphon:

Pulse Rifle/Carbine/Pistol
Kroot Rifles/Guns (pulse accelerated charges)
Burst Cannons
Plasma Rifle

Basically if it's good or standard issue it is effected. Tau suffer the hardest hit from the siphon being an all shooting army that is plasma heavy.

Note: you can not use the markerlight to improve the bs of any squad within siphon range

edit: If you want to make a tau player surrender/quit/rage, this is the item you will want to take in your list.

it's in the Grey Knight FAQ on the GW website... it takes 5 minutes to check... all people need to do is look at the FAQ, and if that fails then ask other people..

it says what weapons it affects and what are classed as Daemons in the FAQ

If you read about the kroot rifles under the kroot section of your codex, you'll find they use pulse technology.

Yes but the reason it affects other pulse guns and not kroot rifles it that the kroot us it to propel convestional rounds while stuff like pulse carbines and burst cannons use it to propel plasma. hope this cleared up something.

Pulse = Plasma

Anything propelled by plasma would turn into plasma due to heat, therefore the rounds become small plasma charges and are effected by the plasma siphon. The "slug" would become molten slag.

edit: also if you read the faq it says all pulse weaponry/ plasma weaponry. If it USES plasma/pulse it is effected, it does not have to actually fire plasma. Kroot rifles in fluff use Pulse(therefore plasma) to propel their rounds. The faq should have spelled it out enough on kroot rifles/guns.

that involves things with the word "Pulse" kroot guns are not classed as pulse weapons simply because of what the Tau have given them...]

"Pulse Weapons" -pistol, rifle and carbine... Kroot weaponry is not because it does not include the word pulse at the beginning

plus there is this wording and any weapon
described as using ‘plasma’ as its effect or in its special
rules. kroot weaponry is not able to use plasma, and niether does it have pulse in it's name...

Uses plasma in the description, not includes the word 'plasma' in the name.

If you use the Plasma Syphon on them, just know that you should never expect to play another game against them. Pulling cheese like that is what gets people a bad reputation.

I was under the impression that pulse referred to their weird guass gun/rail gun propellent system while the plasma part is only the projectile.

It was a 3v3 knockout competition, Both the guys on my team got knocked out and now i'm the only one left to face two teams of Tau... It's not by choice i'm facing double points..
