Wolfen Diorama

Post by Arithon » Fri Apr 10, 2009 7:23 pm

I am not too sure if I can do this as I already have an entry in the single sci fi category but even if it is disallowed I thought I would post it anyway. I have only just finished this after working on it for nearly two months. It is one of the biggest projects I have worked on (except for army painting). Just thought I would post it up. Comments and feedback welcome. The miniatures are Wolfen and come from the Rackam (Confrontation miniatures), the trees are GW and a lot of the plant life is a mixture of silflor products and dried plants (I did this myself). The water is epoxy resin, with a little bit of chestnut ink mixed in and given a top coat of water effects to make it shiny.

I still wonder if it counts as a diorama if you just put models on some scenery, Even tough these models and the scenery look godly..

Fair question.....not sure but not sure about the actual answer. Thanks for the kind words.

@ magicguitar19

The "blood" water is not actually red, more brownish- we have some rivers with staining like this in Tasmania due to the nautral plant activity (although not as serve as I have done it). Just thought it would look a bit different.

I think this counts as a diorama. It looks to me that those spots on the diorama are specifically designed to have the models placed there. Right?

@ Jombo

Yes they are. It was all built specifically for those miniatures- everyhing got built and painted at the same time. It was just an idea I had for something different. 8)

Of course these models were built for the scene... the bases match the over all theme of what's going on...

I enjoy it... the paint jobs are solid, the scenery is solid, keep up the great work...
