This an old Koralon Hydra for a scifi game called Void produced by I-Kore. I primed the miniature black and then did an 6 layer highlighting technique starting with base color then a ratio of 3/4 base to 1/4 secondary color, then 1/2 base to 1/2 secondary, 1/4 base to 3/4 secondary, all secondary, and finally secondary plus a bit of white for the final highlights. I then applied a gloss coat for protection as well as giving it a slimy appearance. There's a couple of other miniatures in the pics just to show the scale of this massive beast. Hope you enjoy :D

Nope. Void was a scifi miniature game and the Koralon were a race of aliens that used organic/genetic technologies to grow their weapons, armour, ships and even some of their soldiers such as the hydra. I guess without seeing some of the other Koralon miniatures it does have a certain fantasy feel to it. I guess you could compare the Koralon to the Tyranids in 40k. Except the Koralon didn't eat planets and no hive mind. If you would like to check out other Koralon and Void miniatures you can follow this link: http://www.scotiagrendel.com/ This company just picked up Void license a couple of years ago and started production again.
