This list was made with help from a chaos/nids player himself. Opponent doesnt take hardly any high strength shooting, hence the vehicles.

Abbadon
Tzeentch Prince with mace, wings, armor

2x(5xChosen, 5xplasma, rhino)
33xCultists, 3 flamers

Baeldrake

Predator with 3 lascannons
Forgefiend
5xHavocs, 4xMissles, 4xflakk

Aegis, Quad gun

In general, list tailoring is bad and should be avoided if possible, don't become that guy. In addition to this lack of high str shooting doesn't mean you should take vehicles here. Mc's go through tanks very quickly once they get into cc and with wings that will happen very fast.
AbbadonHe's ok but too pricey in anything under 2k.
Tzeentch Prince with mace, wings, armor
Get him mastery lvl 3 with biomancy to try for iron arm or endurance.
2x(5xChosen, 5xplasma, rhino)
33xCultists, 3 flamers
Never a fan of the black legion army. Chosen seem too pricey for what they can do.
Baeldrake
Always a good bet.
Predator with 3 lascannonsGood
ForgefiendNot impressed with this guy, too pricey for a bs 3 unit Imo.
5xHavocs, 4xMissles, 4xflakk
Not very good against Fmc's. Most flying monsters have a 3+ save and flak missiles are only ap 4.
Aegis, Quad gunGood but won't help much against that many flying critters, as it's ap4 like the flak missiles and forces you to keep a unit in a fixed spot, which I've found is bad against a more mobile foe. The aegis itself will be of little use against them either, as vector strikes and wings will make it a non issue.

The Forgefiend may seem a bit pricey but he is worth every point if you stick to the Hades Fiend version, 8x strength 8 shots make it very good against most vehicles. Dont let BS 3 fool you.

Not sure about the list tailoring part, depends if the opponent in question sticks to 1 build, and considers that to be the best one, making them rethink that due to list tailoring might change that. We also have one on our club that might require some list tailoring to show him the errors of his way, but thats because of how he deploys (everything close together behind an aegis wall, hes lucky no one brought Basilisk units thus far)

I usually don't ever tailor. I play whats fun. Except this time this is an in-club competitive tournament. Everyone knows what army they are playing against. Everyone will tailor slightly. I also particularly wanna beat this guy bad because he was a jerk to me. So Im willing to tailor a little bit in this one occasion.

Everyone does tailor a bit when you play against the same group of folks but when one needs to make a list to deal with something very specific(as in 5 flying mc's) it's not tailoring slightly.

Just because you really want to beat this guy since hs was a jerk to you isn't worth doing it either, as you're sinking to his level of cheese. You're reacting to this guy and any kind of reaction whether positive or not is acknowledging him as a gamer and he'll keep doing the same kind of stuff.

My own gaming group has had to deal with a guy who runs the same kind of dirty cheese armies(ironically one of them was a 5 flying mc army) and we found that best way to handle that type of person is is to go on playing the army we want to and not change our armies one bit. Eventually most of us stopped playing this guy and his waac armies and half the time he doesn't even get any games in when he shows up(even on 40k night). If anyone else in your group has some issues with him I suggest talking to them and doing something similar. You playing this game for fun, not to get stressed out, so don't keep throwing yourself into the same situation.
