hey guys so me and my friend were talking and it came along to him mentioning that chaos space marines well be getting an update this summer. i know he doesn't have a source for this, but is there some where he might of read this? or is it because that chaos is pretty much within the next couple of codex's that need to be updated. hopefully it well be updated this summer or something close.

rumors are floating around its going to be updated when 6th edition is released and chaos marines will be in the new starter set but keep in mind none of the rumors have any real backing to them since GW is so tight lipped about everything they dont even let their employees know

I have hard the same with the next starter box, blood angels and chaos marines.
As it were, with sixth edition coming this summer I am not sure if they are going to release a second quarter codex. As we haved just seen, the Empire dropped April 1st and impressively indeed. However, every rumor mill I've heard from hobby shops to other websites are claiming that the Tau are looking at a 3rd quarter drop. However, given that C-Marines are in a new box they will probably be first. What would be the point of putting them in the next box if their codex is not in strict compliance with the new rules?
Just a thought, take it or leave it.

I've been hearing that too.
My gut tells me it's going to be Chaos in May, 6th edition in June/July, and Eldar in October/November.
I have a feeling the Starter box is going to be Chaos/Eldar or Chaos/Tau. Chaos/Dark Angels doesn't make sense for GW. It's always power armor versus xenos. I think the White Dwarf spine art hints at Dark Angels getting a White Dwarf Codex later in the year, perhaps when the art is complete.

I heard its the may release too, and it is as close to assured to be in the starter as physically possible. The other army is either dark angels, dark Eldar or necrons apparently. And if it is DA or DE there will be bikes. Again not bullet proof info but it is appearing quite on the interwebs ....

I hope it's not Dark Eldar... Necrons would be fine, but I'd think the cleaner look of the Craftworld Eldar might provide better symetry with Chaos. It would also give the players a "good guy" option and a "bad guy" option.
Almost all the more reliable and credible rumour sources are saying Chaos vs Dark Angels. I have little doubt that's what it will end up being. I really hope I'm right two. My two main armies updated in short succession with a cheap starter box to boost each's model count sounds good to me.
