Greetings!

Yesterday, a friend of mine decided to give me his decade or so old Chaos Space Marines!

A lot of them are painted so so, but it's nothing a good strip couldn't fix. Plus, they were free, so I'm not going to complain. A lot of the models are actually still the current models.

What I'd like to know is, where do I go from here? I'm open to any and all suggestions, but I'd like to expand off of the models I have here. I can go either way on the old Termies and the Sorcerer though.

-Chaos Land Raider
-About 15 Khorne Berzerkers, two have Plasma Pistols
-A metal Chaos Sorcerer in Power Armor
-Five Chaos Bikes, one with a melta gun
-Five Noise Marines
-About 20 Chaos Space Marines, all with bolters(will probably slop some nasty green paint on 10 of them to make into Plague Marines)
-Bunch of old Chaos Termies

I'm thinking of getting a Termy Lord and sticking him with 10 'Zerkers in the Land Raider, hopefully finding a Powerfist bit somewhere for a Zerker champion.

Then putting 10 Plague Marines in a Rhino for objection holding and being a T4(5) FnP nuisance.

I may actually keep the bikes as is, but I'm really open to suggestion.

I'd also really like to get a Daemon Prince as my second HQ.

Land Raiders arent very useful. Don't bother with a Terminator Lord and you cannot have a Terminator Lord in a Land Raider with 10 Berzerkers. It would have to be 8 Berzerkers and the Lord. Giving your Lord Terminator armour and assaulting with your Berzerkers will not allow your Berzerkers to sweeping advance. Skull Champion with Power Fist is the way to go.

You can give your Plague Marines Plasma Guns as your Feel no Pain will help with your Get's Hot rolls if you are just objective holding. Melta's are always good too.

Don't bother with the bikes.

A Daemon Prince and Lash Sorcerer should be your main HQ. Lash got nerfed but I still continue to use it in all my games.

Basically you will be advised to use a list consisting of...

Daemon Prince / Sorcerer
Termicide (three man, Combi-Melta's)
Plague Marines
Berzerkers
Rhinos
Obliterators.

Where should I be putting the Sorcerer(should I put him on a bike, or in termy armor?), and should I be throwing my plague marines in rhinos?

And does 'Termicide' mean 'suicide terminators' or like, 'holy crap termies everywhere'?


Should I just give my Prince Warptime or something else like Bolt?

This is weird...I haven't even played with these guys yet, but...something in my heart feels...weird...

they come down, shoot meltaguns, and hopefully not die

Ah hah, that's what I had figured. Good for taking out a vehicle or something big, and then hopefully stick around. Interesting. And I see that they come stock with a power weapon as well, which I suppose is cool.

Not bad for 105 points.

Here's what you do...

Make those models beautiful.

Strip them, green stuff them, paint them anew, put your personal touch on them, maybe clip off some bolters and add in some random special weapons.

By the time you're done with all of that, Chaos will probably have a new Codex and you'll be ready to dominate in the name of the Dark Gods.

Don't worry about what works *NOW* worry about just getting all those models ready for the future. Don't buy a bunch of new ones, since we don't know how effective anything will be at this point, but make what you have look good.
