I think it would be pretty awesome to have some cheese in the chaos codex.

Make Abaddon the New Mephiston O_O

What ya'll think? :)

I'd rather have Phil Kelly write it. If somehow GW left that up to me.

While I don't have a chaos army, I would weep for you guys if the price of cheese rules you would have one of Ward's attempts at fluff. Phil Kelly would be good or atleast a colaboration.

Who says Codex: Chaos Space Marines doesn't have cheese?
Read through Lash of Submission, and tell me that that isn't cheesy.

In fact, our problem is that we only have cheese, and the rest of the codex is crap - a common halmark of Ward codexes (though our current codex is not a Ward codex). Because of this, the Chaos Codex has aged very poorly. What we need is a codex where we can find synergy between units in the same army, making themed lists viable again.

Take a look at the old Chaos codex. In fact, take a look at any of Kelly's codexes. What do you notice? Many great themed armies in all of them, with most, if not all, of the codexes factions very playable.

Not only that, but look at some of his older codexes, like Eldar and Orks, and see how they have aged in comparison with, say, the Tau or Daemons. Kelly's codexes tend to stay quite good as time goes on, while other codexes have a tendency to fall apart.

If Matt Ward is allowed to write the codex for my Chaos Marines then I'm quitting 40K entirely.

I wouldn't care so much if he got to write up some rules... but no fluff from him... Choas would be the Ultra-Marine's red-headed step brother...

I apologize to all the red-headed step brothers out there...

... wait, that's wrong... I apologize to the FAMILIES of all the red-headed step children.

That makes more sense.

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

And that is why Kharn was cut from the original cast of Puttin' on the Ritz.

Eldar - 8000-ish
Space Marine - 1500+

Is this a troll thread? The entire point of Chaos is that they're so alive with fluff. The stories are exciting and the themes and possibilities are endless. Now you want to ruin that? Shame on you.

Ok, fluff aside, I just think it would be nice to have some zomgash units and rules :|

If Matt Ward would really kill the fluff THAT much...well idk fluff is fluff, I read a lot of the novels and stories as it is, the codex is just a set of rules with a little story here and there to me <-- not saying they shouldn't be, and that they don't. Just to me.

As long as he works with someone (besides cruddeace) to create a balanced decent codex that will age well idc.
