Okay, so I think this topic is suitable as a lot of people haven't heard of Monsterpocalypse, let alone spell it (thank Bork for spell check), so I think this forum should be a forum where where new players can gain info about this game. I think before people ask the same questions over and over again somebody who knows how to play it should put up basic rules and stuff. Hope this helps!

You know I agree, it's easy for some of us who see each other every week to get caught up in what we already know
Basic overview is: You play an army of a giant monster (ie. King Kong, Godzilla, etc). Your army is made up of 1 (or 2) monster and its hyper form, up to 15 units (think the parasites from Cloverfield) take can secure areas of the map and fight other units or monters, and stuctures which are buildings you destroy or secure for different ingame effects.
The objective of the game is to destroy both forms of your opponent's monster, to do this you have a dice pool is constantly used between your monster and your units (so you have to manage your dice usage so that you're not left vulnerable).
Your monster(s) come from one of 6 factions, each with a different outlook on the apocalypse.
Now I know this overview seems simplistic, but really I've condensed the first 30 pages of the rule book so it really is a simple and fast game that we've been enjoying thus far

One thing I noticed that we forgot to do - whenever you destroy an enemy unit, you gain a Power Dice. So really, we should have had way more of them than we did - since we were only taking them when we Powered Up or damaged a building.
Definitely would have resulted in heavier use of the Power Attacks
Cthul can give you a very slow game, the monsters dont have much health themselves, but there's plenty of ways to heal them during the game so they can win a battle of attrition.
I'm not really sure on the differences with the other factions, superficially I can say the martians favour ranged attack, GUARD are about securing buildings to do bigger special attacks, and Shadow Sun have fast units and react according to just about anything on the field

The Terrasaurs so far seem to be 'Slow and Tough' - though none of us have one of their Monsters yet to say for sure. Justin has plenty of their Units in his force though, and I can safely say they are *hard* to kill - one of the Units has 4 Defense - almost as good as my Monster.
