Starting Dwarves need help

Post by yoyomansizzle » Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:37 pm

Ummm getting bored of my elves so I wanted to start a new army and dwarves caught my eye. So from veteran players or dwarf players any tips on what to buy first? Khazad Guard And Balin really caught my and so did Durin and Mardin. SO any help on dwarves play or what to field will be much appreciated.

sory ok, i'd start like any other army a two hero pack, box of wariors, and then a few elite wariors like the khazad guard and the vault wardens.

so start with murin and darr, or durin and mardin.

Those are old times so forget the elves now all they are, are just pointy ear tall people. Ok so im gonna order Balin's guard (him and a bunch of khazad great deal!) and a box of warriors and maybe mardin and durin. And i need help also with WOTR because i wanna play it because i usually play SBG so i wanna try something different.

I recenty had a mate in the same possition as you, he asked me to do him a 500, 750 and 1000pts army list, But in the end he deciced to just get dwarfs as allies for his elves.
I've still got all 3 army lists and if you want i could type them up for you.

Hope it helps :D

Well, I've never played my Dwarfs in WOR before. Only in SBG, and there they kill... In WOTR they are pretty beefy too I heard...

Dwarfs for WotR (as a side note he plays quite defensivly so you might need to chage the lists for your play style)

500pts
Gimli, Son of Gloin - 175pts
3xDwarf Warrior Kinband with shields - 120pts
2xDwarf Archer Kinband - 70pts
1xVault Warden Kinband -70pts
1x Dwarf Ballista - 60pts

495pts in total

750pts
Gimli, Son of Gloin - 175pts
3xDwarf Warrior Kinband with shields, captain, BannerBearer and ShieldBearer -220pts
2xDwarf Archer Kinband -70pts
1xVault Warden Kinband -70pts
1xDwarf Ballista - 60pts
3xGaladhrim Knight Regiment - 150pts

745pts in total

1000pts
Gimli, Son of Gloin - 175pts
3xDwarf Warrior Kinband with shields, captain, BannerBearer and ShieldBearer -220pts
3xDwarf Warrior Kinband with Captain -170pts (2handed weapons)
3xDwarf Arcger Kinband - 105pts
2xDwarf Vault Warden Kinband - 140pts
Dwarf Ballista - 60pts
Thranduill, King of Mirkwood - 125pts

995pts in total

There are the three lists as i said you might need to change it to fit your play style.

Hope it helps :D

Yeah I want to play very offensively with lots of Khazad Guard using Dain and Balin as my Heroes.
