Nusphigor's Alpha Legionnaries

Postby Nusphigor » Tue Sep 11, 2012 5:51 am

Greetings fellow miniwargamers!

A bit of background:
The legend says that some 4 years ago I started playing 40k with a chaos marines army. I used to read a lot of fluff about the different warbands and legions and fell in love with the Hydra, but as time went on and life happened I sold the army and went into a hollow mode, wanting to play miniatures but I never really liked any of the armies I played with.
Now, with the comming of a new chaos codex and the Dark Vengance boxed set I kinda wanted to remake my chaos guys for old times sake. So here I am.

I just restarted collecting my old Alpha Legion army, got around to paint some of them and I wanted to show them to you all.

So far I have an astonishing record of a base for a defiler and 2 miniatures painted but updates will come ;)

Here are some pictures of them, please tell me what you think of them

Dig it so far. I too have the 20th in my Warband. What are using for the Defiler's base if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the reply!
I made the base for 2 reasons: To remember all of the armies I've had or the ones of the guys I regulary play with and because I like the way a miniature looks if it has a decorated base, even if it's with just sand and grass.

Cheers!

Mmmhmm.

Good to know, but what did you use to make the base? Material speaking.

Thanks!
Sorry, the base is made of plasticard with different sand types, I got 3 bags of them in a plant/flower shop so maybe you can get them in there.
First I glued the big sand (rocks) with watered down pva glue, then when that was dry I glued the second sand and the bits, when dry, I glued the last, finer sand and primed it in grey and white.

I made the square base so it's easier to carry on my miniature case :)

Cheers
