Okay. I came to the conclusion that I dont paint white very well. Matter of fact, I hate it if done more than an accent color. So after a couple test figures that are now in some simple green, I will be going to my first love which were the Raven Guard. haha
The look a lot like the Praetors of Orpheus. Maybe you should consider getting into them. All you'd have to do is switch the Enchanted Blue to Ultramarine blue, and they even have the metal shoulder pads on GW!
I still have them. Not quite finished with them yet as I need to get them an HQ. I gave the Army to my son and hes pretty stoked. It gives him an army to play and start to build with.
I was just sitting watching all these games being played at my local shop and the were all these colors that were similar like blue, red, black and green. The closest you could get to different was the grey of the Spacewolves. So I thought since I liked the look of enchanted blue, that I should paint up an army with that color. After splashing it on some test models with black, gray and some off-white/egg shell type colors, the best look was really with a bright white and a sharp contrasting black along with the blue. The color scheme still fits the idea of the army and once I figure out how to make a transfer look decent on a model, the look will be complete.
Here is the entire 5 man terminator squad and their poses. You cant see it that well but they look pretty cool. (still in DIY paint but that is being stripped.)
Here are shots of my Captain which will have Shrike rules. I got a jump pack from one of the Empire Games guys and I cut his left lightning claw turning his wrist over to open it up and welded it back together with the extra metal. I welded the arms and backpack on and that model is never coming apart. lol
He said it was old and unique. If he is making some its a pretty good casting. There wasnt much to remove except for on the bottom and there arent any realy skuffs on it.
Do you guys think the model looks decent though? The pose + jump pack?
Here are some WIPs for my pledge.... Face isnt done and the helmets need work and the handles arent done and the stuff isnt washed... Its a WIP dammit! haha
