I found my old 4th ed nids and was thinking after a 500pt game if i should continue.

I have 12 terma
6 horma
6 gene
8 spores and a ripper.

My list was

ripper proxied as prime with regeneration and dual boneswords

12 termagaunts
12 hormagaunts with adrenal glands and toxic sacs (mycetic spore)
6 genestealers

4 spore mines
4 spore mines

So I'd like to go around 750-1000P, what is a good beginers list?

You have made me proud  :) these are happy tears. Umm do you want cheesey or good? Cus cheesey you'll want a few tervigons but for good you need at least 2 hive guard, the doom of malan'tai is just awesome and for that points cost go for a prime over the tyrant. Genestealers are great and obviously you want a lot of gants/guants. Sorry for no list but hope this helped.

Hello this is my first post ever and i'm hoping to get some questions answered so here it goes..i have 6 tyranid warrios(i proxy one as a Prime), 1 zoanthrope, 1 lictor, 25 genestealers, 42 termagaunts, 42 hormagaunts, 5 ripper swarms, 6 spore mines, 10 gargoyles, 2 carnifexes, and 1 trygon but my tactics from playing chaos space marines don't work for nids so can someone tell me how i should field them so i can start winning??? O and if my Prime has Lash whip and Bonesword in addition to scything talons does he get the benefits from both of those in close combat???

Use Termagants and Hormagants against a single squad of enemy infantry.
The termagants shoot them to bits and the hormagants cut them to bits.
The enemy can also only shoot one so one unit of nids will get him either way.
Using a tervigon to "restock" your termagants also helps.
Start again...Ha. A. A ha. A ha ha ha. A ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. A A A ha. Ha a ha. Hahaha a ha ha ha. Cough. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I was told to....

Whats the Best tyranid army against necrons? And what is the best tyranid army in general anywhere from 1,500 points to 2,500 ish? Just started an army this month al I have so far is raveners, hive tyrant, and gene stealers. I'm switching from elder so I basically have no experience with Tyranid.

OK, so i played a 2400 pt game against my wife and her DA. Very close game it leaned more towards her though. Note: Hive tyrants are both magnetized so no issues switching them around.
I started off going good, took down a few squads then as combats went on started to lose more and more. Now to heal my shattered ego and to stop her from gloating over her win I plan on wiping her DA list from the table with my chaos warhound titan and stormlord with tons of heavy chaos. Any ideas to help against a full terminator list. It is her favorite list so I can guarantee seeing it again.
My list:
Swarmlord (Crushed belial, librarian and command squad)
Hive tyrant with 3 guard
3 Hive guard
2 separate vemonthrope broods 1 apiece
2 groups of 22 hormagants with toxin sacs and glands
10 gaunts with tervigon (got iron arm)
16 genestealers
6 warriors
3 groups of 6 spore mines

Try Doom Of Malantai as it will force termies to do invul roll rather than their usual 2+ saves.

If theyre not in landraiders, the mawlock Deepstrike will wreck terminators. Wounding on 2's and forcing invulns.

Are mucolid spores really worth it? Everyone is making out they will desomate, but i think hey might have trouble getting there without being shot down. I was thinking, everyone will deep strike in, but you could scatter, meaning they could shoot you down if they have ignores cover. Another problem, what if they deep strike onto impassable terrain. They go boom, and no one will be there to die from it. Wasted.

If an enemy wastes firepower from a unit with ignores cover on a 15 point model, good! They come with shrouded, so advance them slowly in cover and because of their 3 wounds people will need to waste a decent amount of firepower to kill them or an ignores cover unit... again for a 15 point model.

Yeah, but if they are killed by, flamers or ignores cover shots, what then?

You laugh because they wasted good firepower on a 15 point model.
