Wul'frun was not your typical Shas'la, after going through the Mont'ka college and running first in his class to graduation. He was apart of the Third Sphere Expanse force and served well fighting against the monstrosities and men of the galaxy in the name of The Greater Good. After finishing his round of service for four years he was promoted to Shas'ui. He felt great pride when he was assigned a squad by ethereal Clab'bage and put under the command of Igg'y a brave and noble xv8 team leader. Wul'frun fought bravely once again, fighting in one of the bloodiest battles the Tau Empire has seen.
The orca thudded as it hit the planets surface, the ventilated propulsion system flared as the gravity of the planet reapplied its pressure to the craft and the landing pads held the weight of the hulking ship.
Wul'frun and his squad jumped down as the the rear ramp opened and allowed them to see the planet they had landed on. It was void and lifeless, they were the first wave to have landed, the squad moved forward as crisis suits touched down around them. Ash'ran and Noc'turus, two of the finest in the cadre landed directly in front and jumped again storming forward, the light of their jet packs looming into the dust ahead. A crackle came over the headset within the Shas'ui's helmet. "This is commander Igg'y, no enemy on radar yet, keep tight formation and await my signal, stealth teams and kroot are scouting the area, Shas'la setup a firing line around the transports, devilfish are inbound for any tactical movement nee..." The radio cut out, at the same moment a flash came from behind the unit. "About face warriors!" cried
Wul'frun. The Daemons were coming in fast and appearing out of the very air around them. "Da'emon sl'ayer! fire at two 'o clock!" He turned just in time to gun down the purple feminine monstrosity just before it's claw came down, it crumpled on the grown and disintegrated into ash, returning to the warp. Wul'frun rolled put of the way from another assault from a daemonette, blasting away the right side of its torso, it's carcass writhing in the dust. Other teams were firing around him as Wul'frun saw more suits falling back to their location. Igg'y landed behind the firing line and released a volley of missiles. They crashed into a giant metallic creature spewing forth flame from its mouth as it fell in a heap. The kroot then pounced digging their knives deep into the flesh of the daemons, while the hounds clashed with the dogs of the enemy, clawing and biting dragging each other down, the stealth teams were firing a flurry of shots from the flank of the enemy. The force was destroyed and scattered, silence flowed through the plain, the most was coiling around them, as if it had a mind of its own, a caw came from above and a giant bird looking creature landed in the middle of the force and let off a pulse that wouldve knocked any other force down, it washed over the tau like a ripple, the amount of shots that filled the air created a wall of blue and the beast was sent back to its maker. "For the Greater Good!" they yelled in unison with their commander. The relic that was allowing the beasts to spew forth was destroyed soon after teo clicks away in an old building swarming with cultists left behind from some campaign in the past. They had claimed another planet for their cause.


After many more fights it has come to his next trial by fire, will he pass and get a suit of his own? Or will he fail, having to wait and fight another four years for his chance?
