Wow man! That looks great! Did you use an airbrush or did you actually blend it?

He looks nice so far! That's the Forge World version of the Avatar, right?

For the Avatar, I'd recommend trying to either highlight the gold some more (GW likes to bring it up to using silver as an edge highlight), or making sure the gems stand out with some nice, contrasting coloured gems (ie: 'cool' colours like blue). Otherwise, the gold just doesn't seem to stand out and it feels a little... one-dimensional on the paint scheme, even as well blended as the molten colours are.

Alternatively, he may look just fine once he's positioned in the middle of all the blacks from the core army. Up to you, but those are my thoughts on it.

General-Kroll wrote:Yeah the golds are very muted so far, it was a touch and go decision wether I painted them yet or just get it till I did the gems. Once the gems are done, I will be going over it all to make sure it looks ok. I'm tempted to give them a little definition by going around the edges with a wash, in a similar way you'd pick out rivets. I'm thinking Agrax, so that it looks like the metal is searing into his molten flesh.
I like using Reikland Fleshshade between the base Balthazar gold and the lighter gold (don't remember the name, the tag got removed from the bottle long ago) layers for my gold. It adds some warmth to the recesses, though I admit I don't do a particularly neat job with the golds on my regular infantry.

Those freehand markings are looking great and really help breaking the otherwise quite blank look of the big black parts. Nice touch!
