Questions Re: How-to Make BMBR Style Videos.

***This thread is designed to allow us to ask questions that the videos didn't directly answer. As stated in the vid, questions about how to use specific software or equipment are out of scope.***

Hey Matt!

Thanks for posting these vids. It's been very informative and goes a long way toward helping newbies (like me) skip ahead on the learning curve.

The main thing I wanted to ask you was what kind of camera(s) and equipment do y'all use to make the vids? By other equipment I mean things like tripods, lighting, etc.

Also, can you explain how the rendering process is done or is that a function of the editing software?

I will be posting a video soon on what equipment we use, but basically all we use is this camera:

Although there are newer versions of this camera now.

As for editing, I go over this in the second part of the video:

I just realized you said "rendering" and not "editing."

Are you asking for what settings it should be? If so, then generally I render the video as a WMV with the following settings:

Audio: 192 Kpbs CBR (constant bit rate)
Video: 1280x720, Quality VBR (variable bit rate) set at 60%
