So this weekend I went to a larger than my LGS game store and told myself I was only get paint... but my 'friend' got me hooked on a certain fluff podcast and um... before I knew it I was leaving the store with a lighter wallet and this;

May the hobby gods have mercy on my soul.

Won't be starting it until next month since I am still doing a ton of SDE stuff this month.

YES!!! =D

very cool :) the starter set is supposed to be very nice (I don't have it myself) and a lot easier to put together than the other wyrd figures.

At least you will likely only spend ~$55 on a crew box, give or take - basically all you need to play one game.

Until you get sucked into other factions ><

*edit* if it'll save you some cash when you get ready to get more stuff, lemme know, I might can swing by one of their stores on one of my trips to Atlanta and just ship it to you.

I appreciate the offer but most crew boxes from the store are about 40-50 bucks at the most so I am okay. :)

I like the box, I have not used it, but all the parts looked nice. Still have one box of gremlins to build.

lol those are awesome!

I found one thing that's helping me take better pictures, via a lot of advice on reapers forums. I got a couple ott lite bulbs to put in my work clamp on lights. I have to put C clamps on the desk, so the work lights have something to clamp onto, but with just those two lights, I get much better lighting overall. They also recommended to put something grey behind the figures, instead of white... I don't really get that, and I haven't any thing to try it with yet, so Idk how that works (they start throwing out words like light balancing and it just goes in one ear and out the other to me). I had been using the Reveal lightbulbs but one of the guys said they are actually too blue (which apparently is not good for our purposes).

Anyway!! mentioning, because, if you can get your hands on the ott lite bulbs, they do seem to work. They're about $15 tho =/ so maybe try to find a coupon or something. I got mine at a Hancock's, which is unfortunately going out of business (which I hate, now where am I going to get my sewing supplies :() but anyway they were like 25% off so not too bad.

*edit* and apologies for long rambling post :P feel free to ignore if not appropriate :D

Thank you for the lighting advice. Lighting is an enemy of mine. Not sure those lights are in my price range... but I will look for more movable light sources that can either use those bulbs, ore at least better bulbs than I use now. Hm. I will need to look into the grey back round... it makes sense though. Gah bit worried about posting pics now, but here goes.

Wiling/wilder is done... but his pics are really dark. So much next painting project.

These guys have been given their shade wash and will get their high light tomorrow. The metal is meant to be messy because I think it helps make the armour look old/dirty/rusty.

And because I am sadistic and don't like sleep I also did this tonight.

I like these minis better than PPS but I have the same urge to smack around whoever designed how the pieces would be spirited and go back together.

So high lighted two models, mid toned and shade washed five others and put together four more...not bad for one night, huh?

Ohh those little skelly guys are very cool!!

and yes, Malifaux is fun! :P

Well done! and no worries about your pics, mine are crappier :P If you do get some ott lites just wanted to mention they do seem to last really well, so there's that at least. But whatever works! I always figure it's an ongoing process hehe

I use an Ott lite too, even to light my pics when I remember :)

Great work, keep it up!
