Tyranid list (1500points) Advices and Critics please.

Hello,

I am not common guest to this part of miniwargaming forum since i don't play Tyranids. However, this is the list i made for my wife who loves Tyranids [dunno why cause she hates bugs :lol: ] (she's relatively new to Warhammer 40K so she left the "list job" to me)

Any advices and critics are most appreciated.

The Tyranid List:
HQ:
Tyranid prime: rending claws, poison attacks
Elites:
(2 units) 2x Zoanthrope
Troops:
(1 unit) 15x Genestealers: poison attacks
(1 unit) 6x Tyranid Warriors: rending claws, poison attack
+[ Mycetic Spore: Cluster spines ]
(3 units) 20x Termagants: poison attack, flesh borer
Heavy support:
Trygon Prime: poison attacks

Point cost: 1495 exactly

Tyranid prime: rending claws, poison attacks( rending seems fine, toxin sacs not as much cause he got S5, in some cases its better to wound on 3+ or 2+ but if you wanna try to add more rending due to the 4+ wound type, its fine)Elites:

Well, the "poison" attack thing says that if your Strength is equal or higher then your enemies Toughness, it allows you to reroll the wound rolls. (if i recall correctly, i should check it in the codex again)

Besides that small error the list is fine?

(she planned to keep zoanthropes surrounded by termagants and advance trough cover with them, genestealers outflank, HQ tyranid warriors drop somewhere where they're needed while trygon prime is usualy poping behind vehicles or next to some serious units)

Yes, but poison ALWAYS wounds on a fixed value. In the case of a tyrgon, its ALWAYS going to be 4+.

In order:
3+ is a 33.3(repeating)% chance to fail to wound.
4+ with re-roll is a 25% chance to fail to wound.
2+ is a 16.6(repeating)% chance to fail to wound.

Unless you are going against a Nurgle army, you will rarely go against t5. Hence, it is much more effective to simply not use the toxin sacs.

On a sidenote, re-rollable 3+ is better than a 2+, but that's not going to be important unless ur a Hive Tyrant trying to beat Kharn the Betrayer on how many ENEMIES you can hit

Troops: 8x Tyranid warriors + rending claws + Mycetic spore + cluster spines
15 Genestealers + poison
2x 20 Termagants
Elites: 2x 2 Zoanthropes
Doom of Malan'Tai + Mycetic spore + cluster spines
Heavy Support: Trygon Prime
