New faction?

If it ain't human, and it ain't from the warp, then it must be Xenos.

New faction?

Post by Jeffers » Mon Oct 30, 2017 5:48 pm

Been speaking to a few people and we agree that a new xeno race should come into the fold. We the move in story it would be great.

As none of could agree on a look eg reptillian/wookie like/avian etc. We concluded maybe a mercenary/bounty hunter type guild could fill a niche. Tonnes of specialised units with each their pros and cons.

What would ypu like to see or species type in the future?

Kroot and Blood Axez are the mercenary types.

I'd like to see Daleks. :P

I think the Rak'gol is one of the cooler aliens in 40K, though I'd be surprised if GW ever made anything of them.

Kroot as their own faction would be pretty awesome! Although, I agree that the Rak'Gol would make the most sense, AND be the most unique faction to add! Their radiation weaponry would sort of make them into what Dark Eldar were in 7th edition. A poison Wild Card (although, hopefully a bit more potent than 7E Dark Eldar :P)

Barghesi would also be pretty awesome. They're an ultra-violent, intelligent species that once took out a whole brotherhood of White Scars. They're so dangerous in fact, that the space marines spent resources containing them in a section of space and PROTECTING that region of space from a Tyranid invasion, so the Tyranids couldn't get their hands on such dangerous genetic material. It would be pretty cool seeing them represented on the table, even if just an addition to the Dark Eldar army (as they use them in pit fights sometimes).

GW is barely able to provide models for any army outside Space Marines. We REALLY don't need another faction that will get ignored harder than Dark Eldar....

Besides, everyone knows if they release a new army that ISN'T Sisters of Battle, all hell will break loose.
Armies:
40k: Knights Cynosure Iron Hands successor chapter, House Terryn Questor Imperialis, Thousand Sons/Tzeentch Daemons
30k: Thousand Sons
Age of Sigmar: Sylvaneth, Disciples of Tzeentch

So true. Not to mention they have a hard time balancing all the armies to add another one to the mix.

If they did release another faction I believe it would just be a sub faction of a current faction. Most of the 'new' armies have been ever since Tau came out. Harlequin's are a subfaction of eldar, genestealer cult are a subfaction of tyranids, knights and admech are just an imperium sub faction, thousand sons and death guard are sub factions of chaos space marines, so if they were to add in a new faction I could only see it as being a sub faction of an already existing army as having a totally independent army you can't just ally in would mean they would need a large release for it of say 8 boxsets which could each be made into 2 different units. If it was a sub faction they could get away with a couple of special characters and maybe 4 boxsets which could be made into 2 different units. This way players aren't starting a whole new army but instead have something different they can play with as well as their current armies... for instance how many harlequin players don't also have some sort of eldar army? How many deathwatch players don't also have an imperium army?

I sure do prattle on don't I?

...any way, I can see them releasing new factions, I predict sisters will have a release first, then we could see things like Eldar exodites, kroot mercenaries, more chaos sub factions as they release daemon primachs, I mean if Angron gets released then we'll see a world eater/khorne codex right?, not sure if we'd see separate codex's for things like salamanders and white scars etc if their primachs get released but certainly the chaos ones should.
