Should Primaris Intercessors have Special Weapons?

Looking over the Primaris Intercessors squad online over at GW's site and wondered for a moment if the Intercessors should have a similar
upgrade option to the Tactical Squads. E.I. for each five models in the unit, one model may replace its Bolt Rifle with a Special Weapon. Like the following:

1) Plasma Incinerator: (see Hellblaster Squad).

2) Onslaught gatling cannon (see Repulsor).

3) Flamestorm Cannon: (see Land Raider Redeemer).

4) Las-talon: (see Stormhawk Interceptor).

5) Ironstorm missile pod: (see Questor Imperialis wargear).

These upgrades would of course be kitted to fit the Intercessors scale and each of these weapons can only be taken once per squad (meaning that you could not take a 10-man squad of Intercessors and take two Las-talons as an example. But you could take a Las-talon and a Onslaught gatling cannon in such a squad).
And lastly, these weapons do pack some punch; as such, points wise they would most likely meet that value and make the Intercessors more costly.

What's your take? Yay or Nay?

And as always, happy wargaming :)

The primaris marines are sort of a throw back to the Horus Heresy days where each squad was specialized and the new lore acknowledges this as giving the squad slightly more targeting efficiency. They would be a lot better having the option to run special weapons, but then they would make tactical squads pretty pointless. Also, I think they were designed purposely this way to be beginner friendly so noobs don't have to think too hard about what each model has and they know in their head they all have the same thing.

I agree with Ronin, if Intercessors had options like Tactical squads then they'd replace Tactical squads. Games Workshop doesn't want to replace the normal space marine lines, they wanted the Primaris line to bolster the Imperium forces while proving a noob-friendly army for beginners and younger players. As someone who has taught a brand new younger player how to play with his Primaris marines - I can say from experience that they are the perfect starter army. They're simple and straightforward to use, while still being effective. If the player wants to get more customizable forces as they get more adept at the game, they can simply expand into a regular space marine army - It's a great setup!

I love how the preview videos of them had them coming out of drop pods you can't take.

Rievers are more of a bully unit. Built to take out ranged squads with their Shock Grenades to stop overwatch and the Grav-chutes and grappling hooks help them dig squads out of buildings and allowing you to harass weak points in your opponents lines.

When compared to terminators and vangaurd they lose out on having any ap in combat or access to invulnerable saves. I don't see them dealing with dedicated assault units well.

I think terminators are sort of supposed to fill that role. Aggressors maybe, but they need some sort of transport to work.

They are Elite choice, Not Troops.

I actually think that there isn't really much of an advantage to taking the Knife over the Bolt Carbine as they're both equal strength.

Scions are pretty new. See the old metal Stormtroopers for the older ones.
