Dark Angels

Post by griffinthemad » Wed Dec 19, 2012 4:19 pm

Are they any better than Vanilla marines?

I honestly haven't gotten a new 6th edition rule book yet, just ordered it and I'm really excited to get back into Warhammer just looking for everyone's opinion.

They have elements of vanilla but they are more terminator/biker based than vanilla and their terminators are better as they can be kitted out for any situation
My WIP. Please comment as they help my motivation :) http://www.miniwargaming.com/forum/view ... 26&t=77583

With new book they will be much better.

Current book is from 4th ed so vs current vanilla codex with cheap good flyer and very good range of good HQ's they will lose. Only option = DEATHWING now. in 6ed Terminators work.

How ironic it is that as fast as we spread progress and hope throughout the galaxy, the Tyranids spread death and despair. Only united can we hope to stand against them. Aun'shi of the Tau Empire

That flyer...that looks like half of a Vulcan Mega-Bolter on the underside of the front craft...plus six missiles...plus twin-linked heavy bolters. This thing is going to hurt.

LOL Such a dynamic Pose for Belial, I think I saw that land speeder with the shrine on the back in Low Rider Magazine once.

Deathwing Terminators look amazing, I like the Ravenwing a little, Flyer is kinda cool, not sure about the Land Speeder Vengeance.

Here is my prediction for Belial:

WS: 6-7
BS: 5
S: 4
T: 4
W: 3-4
I: 5
A: 4
Ld: 10
Sv: 2+

Wargear: Master-crafted power sword, twin-linked bolter, plasma pistol without Gets Hot! special rule, terminator armor, Lion's Helm.

Special Rules: Hatred (Chaos Space Marines), Furious Charge or Rage, Orbital Bombardment, Independent Character, And They Shall Have No Fear.

Lion's Helm: Confers a 3+ invulnerable save or the ability to re-roll failed To Hit or To Wound rolls.

Watcher in the Dark: Confers a +1(or 2) to all Deny the Witch rolls that Belial or any squad he is part of are called upon to make.

I am very excited for all the new goodies coming out, but that flyer with the big energy cannon on the front interests me.

I'm 99% sure that the under-slung gun on the foremost flyer is a Vulcan mega-bolter (or half of one). So maybe Heavy 8-10, Strength 6, AP 3.

The under-slung gun on the back flyer...Throne knows wtf it is exactly. Maybe some sort of new plasma cannon, seeing as how plasma is the DA go-to drug.

Also, here is a new picture of the Land Speeder...this version at least looks better than the first one shown on the Bell of Lost Souls.

Image

And yes, you are looking at what appears to be a twin-linked plasma cannon at best -- or a twin-linked Executioner plasma cannon at worst.
