Iggy's new and improved weekly paint.

Post by IGfanatic » Tue Jan 19, 2016 5:29 am

I made a new years resolution to paint 500 points of my vanilla ariadna, bring my USAriadna to 300 points and paint it all, start a JSA army, paint it and bring it to 300 points and finally, paint at least 200 points of nomads. The reason for so much painting? I want to field only painted models, unlike in warhammer where most of my models were only primed, I do want a fully painted force to be on the table, gives me incentive kind of to paint them so I can play with them.

With so much to paint, I thought I would document my progress and spark some discussion as well within our community about the wonders of infinity.

So this last week, I painted a traktor mul, moblot and tankhunter, then started on a maverick and my friends Combined army. You can see the pictures here. Album

What I finished this week.

I love your painting. I like the military like sobriety. And, hehehe!, for a portable autocannon, it's quite big!

Thanks for all the replies!

@guildenstern The traktor mul was probably the second easiest to paint for this week, and if you like the model, you are in luck as I have a second one that needs paint.

@Munin Been painting and playing infinity for a while, I just dont post often. Thanks though for the warm welcome.

@Kovlovsky Thanks, my vanilla ariadna is done entirely in an urban camo scheme, I'll take pictures of my full force one day. The USAriadna is done in winter camo, then my nomads are withe, light blue and orange. A little off the wall. :P

So this week, my Yu Jing order came in, consisting of the JSA sectorial, an aragato blister, oniwaban blister and another kempeitai blister. I assembled and primed them all and started figuring out some schemes. I also tested out a new style of painting too. I dont usually do a lot of dry brushing, I rely on using washes to do shades and highlighting certain areas with lighter shades of paint.

So with these guys I primed black, layered on Citadel white scar, did a wash of nuln oil and dry drushed white scar again for the Domaru Butai, for the Kempetai I did the same thing but washed with agrax earthshade instead.
No fully painted models this week so nothing to add to my list from my last week which can be found here.
Hopefully this next week I can finish the Kempetai, the Domaru and the maverick from last week.

Until next time.

The hooded one looks a bit like someone out of Assassin's Creed.

With the way the series is heading, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a character like that at some point.
