Drask from Assassinorum Execution force - Start to finish this week(7/12 to 7/19).

I'm new to the hobby so please go easy on me... i've only been painting part time for about 5-6 months now. Also, apologies for the poor pic quality and any broken links ahead of time!

7/12 : The start. Drask is on his sprue and ready to be assembled.

Next update later today when he's assembled.

Have fun! take your time getting him ready to paint, that seems to really be the most important thing I've learned thus far. Every moment you spend getting the parts ready to assemble, is one less you have to spend wishing you hadn't missed something! Always dry fit the parts too, so you can be sure you'll like how it comes out, and it fits right. You can use poster tacky stuff to hold them temporarily.

Looking at the parts on their sprue is exciting! Reminds me of opening a new bottle of paint. :)

Anyway, can't wait to see your stuff welcome aboard =)

Welcome aboard! If I can offer a quick picture taking tip, try keeping your model on a level surface right in front of a background (like a wall) so it doesn't have trouble focusing. I also will put my hands and camera (I use my phone) on a book to keep them level and steady. I will also take a good pic that may have a lot of background, and crop it after.

I hope those tips help!

I was gonna see about painting up Black Legion style to match the rest of my army. either that, or just go with what's on the cards/box.

Go for Black Legion. The Crimson Slaughter might have a nice fluff, but renegade marines are wannabes. Only the good ol' traitor legions are worthy of the name Chaos Space Marines! :P

7.13.15: priming on Drask Begins. As far as paint scheme goes, I'm going to do him up Black Legion Style. I already have about 40 cultists painted up black legion and most of my army's leaning toward that, so why not...

Here i go! May the gods of cheap Chinese airbrushes smile upon me....

Love me some airbrushing :)

I love Vallejo Model Game Air...but I'm on the fence with their primer. Be careful handling the model, the primer tends to rub off.

Drask is now primed up. I loaded up the chinese airbrush with a little TOO much primer, so i also coated up my Assassins and my 10 man squad of Skitarii Vanguard( i'll post those another time).

here's Drask primed up ( again, forgive the pics, i'm working on making a homemade light box, kinda doing it on the fly lol):

The white primer is killer! that stuff won't come off for anything. The black is a little bit flaky at times. best to do a few thin coats and leave it alone for a while.

I washed the model before priming, so it should stick pretty well.
