RPG's #theweeklypaint 2015 (pic heavy)

Tervigon work in progress pics finally! Thanks insomnia!

Basically the first base coats are down. Except for the spawning sac. Very happy with how that turned out. Albeit need to clean up some of the purple bits. Actually. I need to clean up this model a lot. And there are some inconsistencies that i need to fix. (Notice tyranid chimneys some have purple tops and others black)

But for my half asleep/can't sleep skill level i'm very happy on how it's turning out. Can't wait to see everyone else's heavy hitters :D

I love the violet you are using. It looks like the old 2nd edition tyranid painting scheme.

Thanks guys.

I've been hesitant to actually look up 2nd nids as i'm worried my paint scheme might be a tad too similar for my tastes. More progress later tonight probably. As i'm still trying to regain my sanity after painting the tervigon with a GW basecoat brush. As every time i have hobby money i'm either buying virtual hats or miniatures. Who needs a large brush?

Well 2nd edition Tyranids are pretty much forgotten by most. It just shows for how long I'm playing 40k even though I started in the 3rd. The Nids waited for a long time to get a new codex and new models. So don't worry. BTW, violet wan'ts their main colour in general, they were red, orange and yellow, but the guns were similar.

Tyranid Warriors (they were so ugly btw)

And last, the ugliest tyranid models ever, Tyranid Warriors with bone swords!

Oh, man. I had forgotten how awful those Tyranid Warrior minis were.

Yes, it's pretty much awful, although I think the Carnifex and the Hive Tyrant were decent. They had a Alien series look I connect with. I still think the new designs are better, but those two weren't that bad.

*screaming intensefies*

Kinda tempted to hunt them down though. Those would make a great edition to any tyranid collection. I mean. They'd make all of my other models look 10x better!

Sigh. For such a talented actor, it is such a shame that that was his last movie.

He did for his children. They were fans of the video game and they insisted that he did it. So he gave them this as a farewell gift. When you know that, it makes much more sense. I must admit that I don't know the actor really well, but I think even though the movie is bad overall, he did a very good over the top performance. I don't know how to say it, but I felt he did a very good job.

Another 5:AM update woot woot! Actually not woot woot. Because i didn't really get much done. Base coated my venerable dread with the fang until i got a solid color. Then i moved onto the layer of russ grey. Which so far i've done 2 layers of, So i'm thinking 1 or 2 more layers should get me the job done. (also applied first basecoat of leadbelcher. Aiming for one more base coat) Other then that i started basing it with my "glowy ice crystal base." Tragedy struck however when for some reason. Some of the sand fell of while i was painting it! (it had a full 24hrs to dry) So i hastily dropped some PVA glue and am currently hoping for the best. (Base of the dread looks ugly because i couldn't finish it. Hopefully i can tomorrow)

Image

As for tervigon news i just began the basing process. I was thinking baneblade brown as the base? with ushabti bone dry brush? That's probably what i'll go with.

What really sucks though is i usually paint until the sun rises (around 6:30AM) And all my current painting projects are having to dry from the PVA glue.

Oh. But i did have a quick fluffy question! Do dreadnoughts belong to great companies of space wolves? I wanted to give my venerable dread ragnar blackmane decals. But i'm unclear if dreadnoughts are available to everyone or belong to a certain space marine company.
