Thanks Munin! :)

So I got around painting two more cultists for my Execution Force boardgame. Up till now I have finished three of the assassins (calidus assassin is still to be painted) and eight of the cultists. So there are still seven more cultists, three chaos marines and Lord Drask (Sorcerer in Termi-Armour) to go! But I'm on a good way I think. I hope to finish two more cultists this week! In order to achieve it I placed a pledge. ;)

Absolutly no need to... just look at the whole necron awesomness you have created during the past months! :D Did you buy it when it came out or later on? I bought it at day one and there is still so much to do! So don't you worry too much. When I think about the many (unopened) boxes of Space Wolves in my shelves... and I'm still buying more stuff! :o

Thanks, mate! :)

Thank you! I'm planning on letting them do a group shot once they are all done! As we're having the new spoiler function in the forums, I can still post the already finished ones now without spamming my own thread with doubleposts! :D

Yeah, I especially love the yellow of the one Cultist's loincloth. The shading/highlighting is gorgeous and it really makes the mini pop.

Again, thanks for all the kind words! :)

I pledged to finish two more cultits, but only got around painting a single one.

I also experimented a bit with envirotex lite. I tried to apply it to some test bases. Therefore I put some adhesive tape around the bases before pouring the epoxy onto the bases. As you can see it bulged up at the sides of the bases. That's an unfortunatly effect and I got no idea how to prevent it. I tried trimming it down with an exacto knife, but a few testcuts showed me (as expected) that it'll cause the edges to look cloudy. I'll try to cut it away even further and apply some gloss varnish to the cuts later on. No idea how the outcome might be though. Anyone got any ideas to prevent the liquid from gathering at the rim of the base? Perhaps I should have poured enough epoxy to reach the top of the adhesive tape?

I REALLY like the effect though!

I would do a couple of thin layers, that don't reach the edge, so as it spreads it won't have as noticeable an edge.

iirc, what nappen said, is what tutorials I've seen in this technique say to do as well, pour, let cure, pour some more. Anyway you might look up clear resin casting on youtube, I can't seem to find the one I was thinking of but I'm sure there are plenty.

Thanks for the advice, guys! I'll try it again with thinner layers. I actually didn't apply lots of it anyway. Perhaps I'll try a ,,blob" in the middle and then tilt around the base to spread it over the whole base. Guess it might be a bit tricky to get around stuff like static grass on the base... or should I perhaps just stick it into the still liquid envirotex before it cures?
