I was gonna say... how the heck would I get all my rats on round bases to fit on a tray? :P

Might have to magnetize just to make sure they stay on >< Dunno. Well, guess we'll see. Thanks for update/rumors!

I am not re-basing 95 halberdiers, 35 greatswords, 20 crossbowmen, 30 knights and a whole bunch of other empire models. I wouldn't mind skirmish rules or smaller army sizes but I am re-basing diddly squat.

I thought the rumor was you could use either base. I am not rebasing 200 plus rats!

Oh man just imagine how much BETTER you could make the basing! Heck, this is the perfect opportunity to repaint your entire army, better!

The sheer army size required is a lot of what keeps me away from Fantasy - I have no interest in painting 40+ man blobs of Rank and File, really :P So this could help drag me into it.

That said... I have lots of Dark Elves... I should just buckle down...

Like I said the 9th edition stuff will allow for both square and round bases. I'm sure by 10th they will say no more square bases but we should be good for now. I think Mike is actually the majority view when it comes to Fantasy and this smaller style will really help them get that market. I mean if you could buy a battalion box that had a mini rule book in for all the units in it as an instant army that would be great for sales.

This is very true! I mean, I have two possibly three boys interested in the game but not sure of armies especially - a mini army would be excellent so they could learn to play, see if they really liked the game at all, or the army, and then go on to bigger and better things. And I'd probably spend less out of pocket, initially, at least.

So here is the start of the "Pegasus" for my empire wizards. Straight off I want to say this: I hate painting big metal models. It seems like even with priming and multiple coats of paint random pieces will just flake off. It doesn't matter how I hold it, which way is up, etc, it always seems to show bare metal. Thoughts?

If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion: I would pin the palanquin to a piece of cork or mount it on something that you can use as a handle, that way you won't have to touch the actual model and the paint won't chip as easily.

I realize the palanquin is fairly large and that it might not be easy to do, but it could help!
