Raiders Weeklypaint 2015

Post by Raider32 » Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:33 am

Hi All,

am new to this, but have seen others and thought hell i'd like to get involved with that, looking for any advice or just generally showing off my work

so since late last year i decided, i was going to finally start playing and opted for an army that called out to me, that army was the Space wolves.....over christmas i received plenty of models to get started on, one of which was Logan Grimnar......

Last week i started painting him and really enjoying it,so far i have painted both Wolves see below:

sorry my phone camera isn't the best, let me know what you think

Hey they look really good, I love the detailing (teeth, scars, tongue) that you were able to do. Are you new to painting?

PIcked out plenty of details, that's good. You'll get the hang of the pictures, even with a phone camera. If you can find a spot that lets in some natural light it's probably best to take pictures there.

those are awesome, love that model

check out the how to make a lightbox in the painting FAQ sticky list too - I made one and it really helps. I just used an old box and parchment (baking) paper tbh and it still helps lol

**edit** ^^ for taking pictures ... not like, help painting lol sorry, not enough coffee yet!

Nice, have you got any pics on here? i'll take a look........i have a bit of fluff i created with my wolves because i always like to be creative with my colour schemes, so my wolves are painted in a dark grey and red......i call them the Wolves of Aeron (aeron being the celtic god of slaughter)

Bit long winded so i shorten it down, a Wolf Priest named Thrar "Wyrmblade" Hraldir almost cured the flaws within the space wolves, but an attack by the thousand sons destroyed the research.....however 1 subject survived escaped to a nearby planet not too different from fenris, but with a Celtic background this subject began to use this planet to recruit others using the research of his own geneseed, thus in secret unknown to both the Imperium and the forces of chaos a successor chapter to the Wolves was born.....

I love the background, I've been mulling over starting an army with a Celtic background for years.

Yeah my only issue is they still look like Space wolves but with darker grey armour, i'm trying to figure out how to make them look a bit more celtic. I considered maybe giving them warpaint.....but it needs to be subtle

Why not just paint them in a green and gold or yellow scheme? Make it your own!
