Maybe I can wash away the shame of my missing activity for the last months here with this entry.
Basically I want to have my own Landing Platform because the Skyshield from GW looks terrible. Too thin legs, no apparent way of realistically getting up or down, ...
And I immediately knew how it would look like because I coincidentally thought about using a certain piece of my terrain material collection recently. Wanted to make a nice Command Bunker out of it, but I can make that another day because I have another one of these. Do you know about the eight-sided cardboard package of "Celebrations"?
The bottom part of it opens up like a flower, creating a nice "bowl" to just keep the sweets in. Hoewever, if you turn that around, it looks like a massively armored structure. Add an eight-sided pillar on top of that and then a large platform above (measurements of a Valkyrie or Storm Raven are appreciated), and there we are. No pictures yet, I have to make some space in the kitchen first. All those dirty dishes... >_>

Celebrations! Damn it now I want some of them. Looks like it should be good, I've never really liked the Skyshield either.
Took some rough measurements of one of my Valkyries for you :3 From wingtip-wingtip it's 9" wide, from nose to tail it is 11" long, but the part of it that actually "sits" on the ground is only 6" by 3".

So far I have reinforced the two "opening" parts (I use two of these packages) with braces made of surrogated cardboard because I felt they might bend over time. The top part is almost done, I need to create the large middle section though.
Unfortunately my homepage is blocked by my host because of malware on it, so I can't upload pictures. I'm going to add the pictures to the video for my channel as proof that this is a new project, I think that should still be legal.
As soon as I have the time to do a proper video about this building, this placeholder video (which is set to private and can only be seen by those who know / click the link) will be deleted.
Sorry for no actual pictures, but as I said before, I first need to get my homepage back.
This is a landing platform for transporting troops / cargo to the ground via an inside elevator, painted to fit my (WIP) Imperial Guard army. It is 24,5 cm high and the sides of the top platform are 30 cm apart.
