Glad to hear the mechanics were fun, if they were not DP would have the major problems as those as keystones. From your test play it sounds like the game requires you to constantly cover your squads while trying to outmaneuver the enemy or risk being killed which seems like about what Matt wanted.
Organizational thought: If they could make a "click" base or something similar that could be set to say overwatch, normal, suppressed etc. do you think that would help keep track of things or did the poker chips work easily enough?

I was playing in a small area with only 4 squads so I can not stay for sure what a full game will be like but it was fun. I enjoy that you need to plan ahead. During my play through, I move a squad just 1 or 2 units so it remain in cover and can move to the more other cover durning their next turn. That is when I did many overwatch on both sides.
