While my gut instinct is to start crying when I see someone painting on-the-sprue, I like what you're doing so far :D

Well because I don't have anything to hold the model with other than my hands, this is the best way to go about it. The Zombie Dragon has so many guys and layers of bone and guts. It would be impossible to paint it after it has been assembled.

Not true good sir, I painted mine after assembly, it was a major pain in the butt but it is regarded as some of my best work at the time

Being the over achiever, today I'm buying the Garden of Morr to use as basing material for my Terrorgheist. I want to have it sitting over two of the tombs. The rest of the terrain will be converted into Skeleton/Ghoul/zombie unit fillers.

My prejudice against painting-on-the-sprue is because I usually see it mean that mold lines are forgotten about, and the painting gets damaged when clipping the parts off the frame... Plus the finished model won't usually be as strong because plastic glue doesn't bond to paint correctly. None of these are insurmountable problems and a little attention makes them moot points - I've just seen them cause problems in the past so it coloured my opinion.

Yesterdays new work. Finally finished the bone on the wing. However... I did get a little lazy...

Now I'm at work, working on the other wing. Just finished the Dark Flesh. Next up. Chaos Black.

Tis finished! Only a few touch ups to do tonight. Taking a well deserved break for a bit right now. Competition is tomorrow. I think this piece will definitely get some attention.

And sorry about the movement blur. Couldn't get my hands to stop moving.
