Monster Hobbies #thedailypaint Rapid-Fire items

Post by madcap romanian » Mon Apr 02, 2012 1:17 am

Hi everyone!

My name is Trevor Ursulescu, owner of Monster Hobbies in High River, Alberta, Canada.

IG Fanatic is one of my biggest customers and we have been playing Rapid-Fire, a WW2 fast-play miniature table top battle game at my store every Saturday.

We have a "Club" for Rapid-Fire that consists of 6 people and is growing.

I field a Soviet army in the game and I also build the buildings for the battlefield. As my heritage is Romanian, I am also in the process fo building a Romanian army using Hat's 1/72 Romanian figures.

I am in the process of working with Colin Rumford and Richard Marsh, the originators of the game, on some You-tube videos that will showcase the rules of Rapid-Fire and tear down the basic sequences of game play. They have given me permission to do this. More to come soon on this...

In the meantime, I will share a picture of one of my models with you.

This is a picture of my Soviet BA 6 Armored Car from our last battle on Saturday, March 31st, 2012.

Image

This armored car reminds me of a 1936 Ford. The turret on this model moves 360%. The kit was easy to build and went together well. They also give you 2 in a box. The only downside to the kit is that it doesn't have any decals, so to remedy this, I used some spare decals from an old ESCI KV1 tank kit instead.

As far as the game goes, the BA 6 is armed with a 45mm cannon and a vehicle mounted machine gun. It has a road speed of 30 inches and an off road speed of 15 inches. Armor class is "E" and it's point value is 30. It has an Anti-Tank gun class of 4 and a High Explosive damage of 6 on Table 4. It makes a good infantry killer, but it struggles to peg off light tanks.

Hope you enjoy this picture. More to follow soon!

Thanx! I should show you how to do this. I learned it from the GW pamphlets they use to give you in the old paint sets. It's easy!

Well, here's a picture I made in my basement using some if the Russian Farmhouse buildings and my army. Some of the men come from the Pegasus set and the one with the flag is from the old Atlantic Russian Revolution set. The KV1 Heavy Tank is from ESCI (Now owned by Italeri). Farmhouses are from Pola, Pegasus and Zevzda.

Thanx! There's still some "Twist" to your side panels, but there isn't too much that can be done about it. If you ever get the second Jeep model I have, you'll have to pay attention to the plans vs model.

I still think you should hook up the trailer to your Jeep and keep it as a support vehicle or man it with a repair crew and use it to speedily get to your tanks and fix them.

Sadly my American list does not allow for that unless we house rule it.

It wouldn't be a house rule, but could count as something in a special scenario.
