My XXXI-group build project

Post by Lover0fTau-awesome40K » Thu Nov 24, 2011 2:32 pm

This is what I want my tower to look like. I am hoping to make a clocktower (without the attached buildings)and a big clock as a centerpiece for my fantasy gameboard.

So far I've turned a box inside out and measured up the clocks, the door and the windows. All I've shown in the picture is a box though, and because photo quality dosnt matter at the moment, I have taken just a low resolution shot to show you what I'm using (cardboard). I know you guys hate people who use cardboard but this stuffs pretty thick and worthy of use.

We don't hate the people just the cardboard. :)

Regardless of the thickness, cardboard will almost always ripple when wet. It's fairly cheap to give it a texture. Either by painting on a sand and glue mixture or spraying it with a textured spray paint.

Have you though of going to a second hand shop and finding a clock or watch that would fit. Then you can make it so you can replace the batteries and it will always show the correct time.

That's a cool idea, but I had a change of plan a few days ago.
When I added the barricade thingies ontop of the wall, it sorta looked like a turret. So I thought, new idea! I'll make it a turret!

I'll get some pics up soon and show u what I mean. ;)

You could try to incorporate both ideas into one build and have it be an older clock tower that has been converted into a manned gun post.

I thought of that too but if I did that, I couldn't help myself but to make it look wrecked up. Like it was a clock tower until some big war. :/
