As for one or two troops fleeing in such a small-scale scenario, I will agree on that, but as already stated, it would be even more complex to make morale checks on a per-model basis.

As for a new thread, it appears someone else has already done so and quoted your segment on throwing out routed units as a whole. Though they had their own thoughts and maintained that units should attempt to flee where possible. This last point really renders the whole thing moot, as it's no longer related to the issue of throwing out routing, but merely modifying the existing fleeing rules.
