Weapons in the modern military- The Tavor Rifle

Post by lean-v » Tue Oct 04, 2011 11:54 am

The Israeli TAR-21 Tavor rifle sports a design to be as compact as possible for potential inner-city close quarters fighting, all the while maintaining impressive levels of precision and accuracy for more than 300 meters for more distanced combat.

The Tavor was engineered with ergonomics in mind from the beginning, and as a result the soldier can grip the compact rifle comfortably and without strain for as long as required. The ergonomics also led to its incredibly unique (and simply cool) design, look, and feel.

Below is both an article from Wikipedia, an image of the weapon, and a youtube video to a 2 minute clip from 'Future Weapons' that covered the Tavor.

If anyone else has a favorite REAL (past or present) weapon (or plane, vehicle, field equipment, etc.) you should absolutely post it below! Make sure to add a name, a brief description, and a picture.

And for those who wish to post concept art of an interesting/cool/sci-fi/whatever weapon that you found on DeviantArt or other artistic sources, please simply make a new topic instead. Thanks.
