Link to artists' galleries here (and some concept art!)

Post by miniwargaming » Wed Apr 04, 2012 11:08 am

Now that I have some money to spend, I need to spend it!

I've been looking for great artists for Dark Potential since before we started this IndieGoGo campaign, and I have found quite a few.

However, I need more, and since 1000 eyes are better than 2, if you know of any artists (including yourself) that would be good enough and have the right style for this project, please reply to this thread linking directly to their gallery, or better yet, the part of their gallery that shows that they would be perfect for this project.

To give you an example of the general style I am going for, here are some images of concept art for Dark Potential that I love:

Thanks for all your help!

Two great concept artists that freelance, with styles that I think might fit.

This artwork might be a bit on the gritty or odd side but he had there were a few images in the gallery that look like they might be adaptable, and the environments in some of the larger images are very nice.

I'm a bit of a computer tard so posting images might be beyond me, but I'll include links too two of them I liked that might be of interest

I dont know him personally but Douglas Shuler has always been one of my favorite artists since started playing Magic back in the Revised edition. He's done work for both Wizards of the Coast along with Cryptic Studios for City of Heroes. Only the Digital and Pencil parts of his gallery are online at his site but they show his artwork off rather well:

While I think it's a bit more sci-fi than what you may be looking for I think his "Arcadia Station" is a good example of his work for this project:

It's true. Men are obsolete. That's why space marines were made. There will always be a new war.

Disclaimer: I have no idea how willing any of these artists would be to working on this project. That said, they do produce some freakin' awesome art, so here you go.

This artist goes by the name of Strype. His gallery is on a site called FurAffinity. He does fantastic with tech, but his gallery does contain NSFW content.

This artist goes by the name of Tsampikos. Again, some NSFW, but a very smooth style that ranges from fantasy to high tech, like so. He's making a move to DA, so it may take him some time to fluff it out, but here's a few pictures...

Reiq's gallery, yes, is full of pin-up girls. Well-drawn pin-up girls. If you dig a little deeper, you'll find stuff like this...

This is Alexiuss's work. They are the artist behind a post-apocalyptic comic called 'Romantically Apocalyptic'. Lots of photo work, with the focal point being a single character or creature, but it's clear that they're able to make some impressive scapes.

You said you're looking for sculptors, are you only looking for green stuff sculptors or are you also looking at hiring 3d artists and getting a 3d print for casting off of?
