Semper Fit

Post by Hawkeye » Fri May 27, 2011 10:57 am

Two years ago I left the USMC after nearly 6 years of service. Since then I have been no where near as active physically. So my goal is to return to the weight that I was when I was an active duty Marine. I started working out again on Monday
Starting Weight: 205.2 lbs
Goal: 175 lbs

THE PLAN
Cutting out fatty food
Ending my life long love affair with the Coca Cola Corporation
Eat smaller, healthier portions of food
Bike 6 Miles a day 6 days a week
Walk at least 3 miles a day
Drinking lots of water
Doing the Marine Corps daily 16 which is just a series of simple warmup exercises.

Good luck everyone

After one week I have decided to go up to 8 miles a day on my bike. In my opinion I'm off to a good start.

I was doing so well this week and then I was invited to 2 BBQ's. All of the delicious food was to much to pass up. I've been finding it harder to stay motivated, but at least im getting a lot of models painted. I'm also eating much less then I used to.

Weight this week: 196.6 lbs
Weight Loss: 3.8 lbs

Keep it up Hawkeye, you're losing at a fairly steady rate, so it should work out fine :) Nothing wrong with a treat or two, so long as the treats don't outweigh the good behaviour you're rewarding yourself for! :D

You're right Amael. I think my problem is that I need to vary my workout. It's starting to feel like a chore because i've been doing the same thing everyday for 2 weeks. I'm also trying to get a friend of mine involved since he keeps talking about wanting to lose weight.

This was a good week. I changed up my routine a bit which really kept me going. I also was able to resist the urge to have cake, and pizza at the Games Workshop Birthday celebration here in NJ. I also managed to finish painting one of my armies, and now I can move on to painting my Eldar. My goal for this week is to get back within the USMC height and weight standards for my height (5'10"). For those interested in seeing how they compare. http://www.military.com/military-fitnes ... ght-charts

Thanks Khornate. I did very little this week work out wise. Fortunately I was kept busy by random tasks, and a lot of walking in Philadelphia on Saturday. So I didn't lose much weight, but I do only have 10lbs to go.

Posting my smallest weight loss since I started losing weight. I had a cookout with my friends on Wednesday. Then for my girlfriend's birthday I took her to see Cirque du Soleil Zarkana which was an amazing experience. The next day we went to another cookout with my family. Then on Sunday my girlfriend went to ride her horse, and I went to a party to watch the finals for the womens world cup. Despite all of the eating I still managed to lose a little bit of weight, and now have less than 10lbs to lose.

Previous weeks weight: 185.0 lbs
Weight this week: 184.8 lbs
Weight Loss: 0.2 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 20.4 lbs

Will do Wolfer!

My weigh in is being pushed to Wednesday because I have managed to talk my friend into working out with me and he has a pool. I can not wait to start swimming again.
