Reclaiming a Keep, Game and Castle Floors (wip pics)

Post by Vassago42 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 12:22 am

Currently clearing/recapturing a Keep near some mountains in our game. These are some layout pictures of the castle rooms. They are a work in progress, havent added any details to them yet. I used Hirst Arts molds and some of my own making for these builds.

Some of the pieces in the process of being painted:

Very nice. If I had the chance, I would certainly play on it.

Yup. I made some custom masters from the original molds so that i could cast entire floor sections in one shot instead of one square piece at a time. I cast all of my bricks in epoxy resin.

The custom masters of floor sections is a great idea!

In this part of the module, the heroes have fortified themselves into a room and are blockading the door. This is a look at the Barracks, and Dungeon area of the keep.

Here are the heroes blockading the door to keep the quickling attackers out:

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa36 ... 133421.jpg

The quicklings use a Troll to break in through the rear door. Our group of heroes curries down the stairs before they are spotted. Down the cold dark stairs is the keeps dungeon:

Here you can see the group has had to blow open the main door to gain access to the room.

Here, the heroes have put the door back up and blockaded it with magic and a table and stacked objects from around the room:

exploring the rooms:

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa36 ... MG0171.jpg

They found a secret passage behind a sliding wall!!

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa36 ... MG0177.jpg

After circumventing teh traps in the hallway, they come upon a treasure room:

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa36 ... MG0185.jpg
http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa36 ... MG0186.jpg

The heroes see a suit of shining white scale armor on an armor stand atop a pile of gold on the stone dias. They move in to investigate:

Image

Oh No!! A Treasure Golem attacks!

Image

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa36 ... MG0189.jpg

They are able to slay the beast and win the day. Not to mention a nice shiny new set of white dragon scale armor!

I still need to do some weathering work on most of the walls and on the field stone floor tiles. Once the weathering is done, maybe a few more little detail adds, like bones n stuff, and the sets will be done. Right now everything is all shiny clean and new, haha, very uncharacteristic of a 300 yr old dank dark dungeon.

Who are you and why can't you live near me!?!? This looks amazing and way more immersive than a whiteboard with a grid. I bet you'll never have a problem with players getting bored and not showing up anymore.
