I can speak to some of those, at least with respect to previous years at least. Matt might change things this year of course, but I would expect some of them to stay the same.

The models get locked up at night. We all leave them there overnight.

There was lunch provided at the event. I don't remember if it cost $5 extra or if it was included in the entry cost.

There was a time announced to start setting up on Friday. I think it was 5pm.

Last year you could use any strategic asset that came in a formation, but not choose any as you would in a more "typical" apocalypse game.

I thought there was going to be a painting requirement last year and I made sure to at least get a based coat on all of my stuff, but then it turned out there wasn't a painting requirement. Just more of a strong encouragement.

I remember the first year had a requirement of mostly painted. I cannot recall if it was percentage, or simply more painted than not. Either way, this event makes a great motivator to get things painted up.

As for being tabled, there is no real policy. I do not think anyone minds if you stick around if tabled, but I do not recall seeing anyone tabled so early on, especially since you can call on the side tables for assistance.

Are the rules for "buying" extra strategic assets allowed?

There are some nice assets for non-marine armies that are a little short on formations and even more short on formations that give assets, I'd gladly give the 250-499 points to buy some of the strategic assets.

So far from what I've got tallied up I'm bringing 10k of imperial goodness--8k Templar, and a Guard Retinue. Just need to build up a deathstrike and defense laser and I've got it set up. 10,320 points to be exact. Also, I should hopefully have my Ultramarine and Crimson Fist buddies with me.

I believe that SM and IG can be mixed, so yes no problem as far as lending him marines.

As stated on the Apocalypticon website:
-Each participant must bring at least 3,000 points.
-The miniatures must be from the same army. Space Marine Chapters can be combined. Imperial Guard and Space Marines can be combined. Chaos Daemons and Chaos Space Marines can be combined.

Nuts. It would seem that the mixture of sisters/marines are kiboshed this year.

I imagine your sisters and marine combo would be allowed, you've brought it to every other apoc game mwgs done so I'd think this one would be no different?

That is still the hope. Was planning on fielding the three branches of the Inquisition. Got a lovely bunch of Deathwatch raring to go, outdated rules and all.

I would argue that you should be able to play any two imperial factions together. Grey Knights/Witch Hunters included.

This game isn't necessarily about game balance, but that is just asking for things to be unbalanced, since you would risk having players cherry pick the best units from each codex. And it isn't like xenos players can do it. Ork players are stuck with Orks only. Tyranid players with tyranids only.
