SOLD OUT (again) - well, almost...

Post by miniwargaming » Tue Mar 15, 2011 10:33 pm

You might be wondering why I'm saying that we are sold out when it says there are 5 tickets left (unless it says there are 0, and this post is old).

This is because we have allotted the rest of the tickets to Black Knight Games, our official partner in this event.

These tickets can only be purchased in store at Black Knight Games.

If they do not sell all of the tickets (which I doubt would happen) then we will release them here in a few weeks.

There will most likely be cancellations as well, but we will most likely not increase the cap beyond 50.

Perhaps next year we will shoot for a million points instead...

Not that I know where black knights games is, and I already have my ticket, but do you think Black Knight Games would take an order over the phone?

No, as the whole point of reserving them tickets was for their local customers.

Next year, perhaps, when we are more prepared for it.

I'm thinking we'll go for a Guinness Book of World Records entry and do a million points...

Well I guess that means I'll have to buy more tanks. I missed out this year, but next year i'm driving up from Maryland to participate.

Well breaking the world record would be awesome 8)
But if more and more people want to sign up will you keep on upping the limit?

I would definitely be game for 1 million points... I could field a mighty army of the Inquisition then...

Would it be cheating to spam orbital strikes at 700pts a pop?

I would say no, but I can promise that the various marine chapters who have members present upon the surface of the planet as you commence exterminus would be most unhappy and you could possibly be instigating a new Badab War.

Not this year.

As for next year, that all depends on how many tables we have available.

With a year to prep though, think about the amount of outside help. You might be able to convince Brian at Phoenix Rising in St. Catharines to donate a table or two... If he is in a good mood... Also, it could also be possible to approach GW. It would be good marketing for them to get their name a couple things, even if it is just some tables. And of course, there is also the volunteer racket you guys could get simply by granting participation rights for people.

All very good ideas, especially the one about contacting GW.

If they're smart, GW will definitely want a piece of this one as the Guinness Book of World Records is quite the great advertising space.

This game is going to be truely awesome to behold. I can't even fathom what ~20 6x4 tables decked out with miniatures will look like.

I just love this idea. It is a 5 hour drive from where I live in New York and I plan to participate in any upcoming Events. Im coming this year and want to make it a tradition to come every year. I think it is easier to have it over summer as more students can participate. Sorry for the long post.
