I was inspired by another 40k forum (more appropriately ripping off the idea) of having a community presence in the planned apocalypse game. Here’s how it would work.

It’s basically a community space marine chapter. Slots are opened up for forum members to paint up and donate a space marine model. The community would vote and select a color scheme so a unified look would be maintained for the unit. After we have 20 or so donations those space marines, donated and painted by the forum community, would be integrated into an existing army as part of their forces. I’m sure someone would be kind enough to give the community say 500 or so points for fully painted figures.

This way the forum community could follow along their particular units and root for them during the course of the game. A simple moderator could be put in charge of opening and closing slots for donations, and the assembled and painted models would then be mailed to the club in Welland. At the very worst MWG would be receiving free assembled and painted space marine figures that they could lend out to club members.

If the Imperial forces are already overwhelming the Xeno forces, then the same idea could be put to use on a Ork boy squad or (my preference, Chaos Space Marines)

I just think it could be a fun, cheap, and creative way for the community to participate.

I've got a bunch of AoBR stuff lying around, orks and Space Marines, and even a few spare Chaos Space Marines. The way I see it, with this many points, there's bound to be several figures not painted. This project could help replace some of the grey soldiers.

Or maybe even get the two teams to participate in some sort of combined manner. I.e. make sure that each team has an 'adopted' similar paint scheme for their supreme commander or something like that. It would look really cool if they were all the same colour.

I would love to do something like this, and would gladly donate a space marine model. Though, I would love to provide an inquisitor who has 'requisitioned' them even more...

You then fill up the slots with the names of pledged donations, agree on a Chapter name and color scheme, and then you're off to the races to paint up and send in your models.

It would be one donation per person so lots of people could participate. So I would sign up for a lets say a Vet Sgt. and you could sign up for a Missile Launcher marine. The update would look like the following example.

Sounds like fun. I have a bunch of extra SM guys im not using so if ur looking for anything specific let me know. i also have some tanks and dreads im not using so if you wanted to get an entire 5k army up id be willing to donate stuff.
