If wishlisting, I also like the new reserve system, but will gladly accept the old one if need be.

We'll use the same explosion table as last year, and the same reserve system from last year.

Same explosion table as last year?! Buya!

For those unfamiliar with the pre-Forge World update explosion table:

All super heavy vehicles which lose their last structure point roll on the Catastrophic Damage Table:

1- Wrecked
2- Wrecked
3- Wrecked
4- Puny Explosion
5- Puny Explosion
6- Fun Explosion!

Puny Explosion - All models within 2d6" of the super heavy vehicle suffer a wound on a 4+, armour saves apply as normal. Vehicles unaffected.
Fun Explosion - All models within 3d6" of the super heavy vehicle suffer a s9 AP2 hit*. Vehicles within range are hit on their side armour.

* - These explosive effects are replaced or added to by certain super heavy vehicle's explosion rules, such as titans or the Nurgle Plague Tower. Always is there a specific written entry for these changes.

Don't forget the house rule that adds a +turn number modifier to the roll so on Turn 5 you are guaranteed an apocalyptic, Fun, explosion!!!! Yay!

Whoa.... I thought the only result was a 6... What are these other results you speak of?

Question about Titans and the apocalyptic explosion result, if we use one of the new data sheets for a titan, they don't have any mention of special apocalyptic explosion, do we just use the base one then?

New datasheet on Reaver has "Reactor Meltdown", all "super heavy walkers" have the "catastrophic damage table", but the new apocalyptic explosions seem kind of wimpy.

The reserves we used last year was you split everything in reserve into 2 groups, one group will arrive on turn 2, the other group will arrive turn 3

Take Formations (count as 1) and units (like normal 40k), 50% go on table turn 1.

Split up the remaining 50% into 2 waves, so half of this bunch on turn 2 and whatever is left on turn 3.

Actually, you can deploy as much as you like at the beginning, and then it is 50% turn 2 and 50% turn 3.

OK... so as much as you want/can fit/have time for... then 50% of what's left and then the rest... seems simple enough

and fliers? can they deploy initially or have to come in on reserves?

deep striking units? come in turn two earliest? drop pod strikes?

Nope, that was how it was last year.

Anything that has a rule that it must start in reserve still starts in reserve. However, nothing comes in first turn, even if it has a rule saying that it can (such as the Drop Pod Assault rule).
