Title really says it all. I'm looking for opinions on how worthwhile the Gold Vault membership is. Are the videos informative? Are the freebies fun? Do you feel that the discount makes prices competitive in comparison to other websites? I have tried to look around and for the most part MWG seems to keep especially model prices fair . Any weighing in would be appreciated.

Well I am not sure about the content because I don't have a vault membership. However I can weigh in on the pricing.

Depending where you live.

In Canada with the 10% off from the Vault and 10% off normally that

so with that you are now at the same discount as Heavy Support Games which is the best online retailer I have found price wise.

In the USA even with the extra 10% off you don't even come close to the discount that they give on GW product but you are close to if not on par with their Privateer Press stuff.

The UK has the lowest yet for GW product but if I am not mistaken MWG's Privateer Press stuff would be cheaper.

I currently only shop for PP products and from what I see MWG has competitive pricing for those models for US pricing. For example, the Cataphract Arcuarii box set w/ the additional 10% would land right around the $39.99 that Heavy support charges with the added benefit that MWG only charges $10 for their shipping while Heavy has a $20 flat rate w/ no option for US free shipping.

I think the big deciding factor was how cool the extras are as that would really be the tipping point. The obvious argument against the pricing is the vault fee but I was debating about the lifetime gold membership which would pay itself off relatively quickly from my number crunching and eventually become a benefit after a decent amount of purchases. That I and I would be apply to support a new table top game ^^

well, if you buy from MWG alot it is definitely worth it, even still kinda worth it if you only make a purchase every few months

I make 1 - 2 purchases a year i bought the gold membership when it was first released so got the sale price. I took advantage of the free magnets and one of the $30 coupons so far. i used the $30 coupon during the 25% of sale and ended up getting a total of 50% savings on my order thanks to the coupon and the additional 10% discount. that one order alone i saved $90. i still have 1 $30, 2 $20, but 1 get 2 magnets, 6 free reaper paints, free green stuff, free paintbrush set coupons left. Plus you get the daily vault deal todays is 35% off a specific model.

So i think it is obvious that it is worth the cost not even including the 8 free dvd downloads i have gotten so far.

edit:
so go to indiegogo and support dark potential you get the membership and extras!

The vault gives access to a great backlog of terrain building and painting tutorials. It also continues to add to this catalog about once a day. I have gotten a great amount of utility from this aspect of vault membership.

The store discount will have a different value depending on your geography but as others have already said it pretty much always puts privateer press things into a very good price range. Due to GW policies you will probably still find better deals elsewhere if you are US based.

Don't forget about all of the non-model supplies that you can get from the MWG store. (magnets, paints, glue, etc).

Thanks for all the opinions, I appreciate it! I'll be scraping together the last amount of funds right before the month ends!
