Battletech hands down for me. I play 40K more often but rules wise and fluff wise I far prefer Battletech.

My favorite wargame is the one that got me started with miniature wargames.
HEROSCAPE.
Saddly, the game is now being kept alive solely by it's fans until a new company picks it up after Wizards of the Coast's plan to use it as a way to advertise Dungeons and Dragons backfired when alot of the people who got tired of nothing but DnD sets stopped buying the product, I was one of them.
You can still buy sets, as they're still being made. They're just no longer releasing new sets.

I put Battletech down. 40k is good as a hobby, but for gaming I have always preferred Battletech. Much more strategic of a game and luck doesn't play as large of a factor.

Rapid Dire, and 40k close second.
Rapid Fire is just, over all a more tactical amd fun game! You never know who is going to win unlike most 40k games where you know how the game will end by turn 3.
There is just something about creating a road block with a half track then calling in a strafing run on a line of soft skin vehicles!

It's a tough choice between warmachine and warhammer fantasy for me. I love both games, but warmachine is slowly gaining a place in my heart that pushes warhammer out

In that case i voted. I just didn't think it was fair to vote if i had nothing to compare it too. being able to revote makes it more fair. Though i should admit i have only played one game since 6th edition so still don't even know the 8th edition rules
