So I've recently gotten back into both 40k and Fantasy only to find that BOTH of my rulebooks have become out of date. No big deal right? WRONG! GW was the spine to charge us 90$ for a rulebook, where the rules make up less than a quarter of the pages.....WHAT?!?!

I don't understand; you're upset that they updated both game systems? I'd argue that both were improvements over previous generations. If it is the money you're concerned about...welcome to capitalism! I'd charge $90 if people continued to pay, too, and judging by GW's latest earning statement nobody seems to be objecting.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like paying that much either, but I don't think we should be overly surprised at the prices GW charges.

You are surprised? This is GW everyone knows what they are like for their pricing. Just wait till next month to either get the box set or get the minibooks off ebay.
We are currently in the 6th edition of Warhammer 40K. This has been out for about 6 weeks, and is a vast improvement over 5th edition. No worries about a new edition coming out anytime soon, so if you have this one, you're fine.
Now to await the coming FAQ wave.

well compare it too other books the same size, which are full colour and hard cover..... around the same price
