Re: Eldar Allies for Tau

Instead of conceal on your warlock take enhance. That'll make the guardians pretty impressive in close combat. Also fortune IMO is pretty useless on guardians. Too many things negate their 5+ save. There are better 6th Ed. powers.

Re: rangers in 6th edition

I use them almost exclusively to focus down heavy weapons and officers in units. I don't really use them to try and counter termies or the like. I use them to try and lessen the hurt my other forces receive from enemies either by denying them firepower or by drawing firepower towards themselves. Sna...

Re: re-vamping my eldar army. 1500 pts roughly

Hmm... Cool army! I don't use wraith units very often (mostly because I have no wraith models!) so tell me how those end up performing. With the war walkers though, I usually equip them with EMLs for utility of use. 6 plasma missiles will hurt infantry a great deal and 6 krak missiles are hard press...

Re: A beginner's effort: Town Square WIP

This is your beginning terrain? Gosh... This blows my current stuff out of the water :P I'm going to have to build more and redeem myself! Everything looks spot on!

For some reason the farmhouse makes me think of Van Gogh... I like him!

Re: Terrain Piece - Fallen Building

There is a huge blank spot on one of the walls asking for something cool decorating it. I'd go with raised iconography of some sort. Maybe carving a broken Aquila or Chaos Star from foam core and then gluing it to the side would to the trick. Oh! Idea! Have a broken Aquila with a Chaos Star graffiti...

Re: 2000 point semi-competitive Eldar with Dark Eldar Allies

I field my War Walker Squadrons with 6 Eldar Missile Launchers. It's only a few more points than scatter lasers and allows you to shoot 6 kraks at a tanks or 6 plasmas at infantry. On more than one occasion I've cleared out a Leman Russ one turn 1. Same goes for those swarms of 20 gaunts my friend l...

Re: War Walkers, Reserves and Drop Pod Sternguard

S8 AP2 for the brightlance. A lascannon is S9 AP1 but doesn't have that super great lance rule. Still though, no saves and wounds on a 2+ :P As for the Dark Reapers... what's to stop the sternguard from dropping on them with the pod? I think the guardians are a good idea though. I never stick warloc...

Re: Terrain Setup Ideas

Interesting... So we played an agri world tonight and had a ton of hedgerows and field. We were approaching giant corn maze. The best part was that nobody bothered to try and go through the hedges. We all walked around with infantry or jumped over with 'gaunts and battlesuits. My 'nid ally and I end...

Re: Terrain Setup Ideas

Are you going to have specific measurements for buildings etc? For example, in Forge World section, you said "must have one large building". Is this decided by players or has it a certain size? Right now we don't exact measurements, but with the terrain I have there are about 3 archetypal sizes. I ...

We haven't had any problems with it so far, but we're playing a few games today and I'll be sure to keep that in mind. 12 does seems a little high but anything less doesn't seem to offer any resistance at all.

Terrain Setup Ideas

Hey Miniwargamers! I'll get right to it. I dislike the rules for setting up terrain in 40k. Always have really... So one of my buddies and I are in the middle of coming up with a way of deciding which terrain pieces to use in a particular battle based on what kind of world it is. I get the feeling t...

Re: Totally stupid and Heretical thought!

Maybe it will be an update with what Commander Farsight has been doing away from the prying eyes of everybody. I doubt he was just sitting around playing poker with his lieutenants. Although I do like a lot of enigma in my 40k, allowing for speculation and long talks on the possibilities of the fluf...

Re: Lord over that Gun

Fire Dragons will need a transport as well, but I figure everyone knew that already. In my experience bought fortifications are poorly suited for eldar and dark eldar. IMO defenders should be cores or elites and have pretty long range. Dark Reapers are the only things I'd put in the defenses. Pathfi...

Re: Should there be New Army?

Ultramarines are always cool. But in all seriousness... why do we want more power armor on the field? Where's all the love for us absurdly vulnerable Xenos? D:
