Re: 6 New Missions

I like the sound of most of these! I have a soft spot for more fluff driven games.

Re: How do you favour with the dice gods?

Deemed Worthy : For a friendly game with one of my mates I decided to stick my Farseer in a bike squad full of guardians. I rolled on the Telekinesis table and ended up grabbing a nice little gem called Telekine Dome. Farseer is decked out with Fortune and TD. So at about turn 5 the game isn't goin...

Re: Codex Powers vs Rulebook powers

I personally like the Rulebook Powers. They are fun and can make our obsolete units good again. The power combos are worth trying get each time. Even so, the primaris powers are fun too. Precognition + Eldritch Storm is a fun combo. NOBODY SHOULD EVER TAKE GUIDE EVER. EVER. Take prescience, it's the...

Re: Dropping the Fire dragon bomb.

I'd say you'd want you'd want to pop the Rhino with the Falcon pretty certainly, just because less movement and protection for whomever is inside is good for you. If it turns out to be really mean, kill it with the dragons, if not, find another target. Turboing right up next to something and soaking...

Re: which phsyic power is best

A time honored combo with Dire Avengers against just about anything is "Guide/Prescience, Doom, Bladestorm, Assault*." *Only assault when smart to do so and possible to do so. I think I end up doing that more in this edition just because Prescience allows you to re-roll in assault, not just in shoot...

Re: Help needed

I prefer to take 6 EMLs in my War Walker squadrons. These things are absolutely devastating against light infantry and all but the heaviest of vehicles. They also have bunches more range than the scatter lasers. War Walkers are thin skinned, so keeping them out of reach of more things is always a hu...

Re: Eldar help needed

If he is playing against power armored foes tell him Dark Reapers with an Exarch and equip him with a tempest launcher. Taking crack shot makes marines die no matter what, but fast shot can also make him absolutely devastating to anything wearing power armor (or worse) outside of cover. Unlike with ...

Re: My first piece of terrain in over 2 years

Wow. Very nice! Prepared artillery positions make me angry. Those cannons are hard enough to kill anyways :P The only thing I would change would be the wooden beams. I think the edges and corners should be boogered up a bit. The paint job on them is perfect though.

I think a month is plenty. In my experience giving myself more time to complete a project just leads to more procrastination :P

Re: MWG Group Build Tally Sheet, Winner's Gallery and Ribbon

I noticed a few that said "no image available." I could dig up a few old pictures of the church and repost those... I'm not sure why the links were less than permanent though, and I don't know how to stop it from happening again.

Basing models, basing terrain pieces, the terrain piece itself, and surfacing a game table. At least that's what I do.

Re: Need assistence vs csm

No, I do indeed mean fast shot. :P I don't go for mathhammer much, so I don't know the statistics. Crack shot may well be better for you, but forcing a flyer to evade certainly blunts its shootyness. I do know that I like having two shots on a tank when I'm not worrying about the flyers. In my mind ...

Re: Question about sand

I just go with playground sand. The variations of the grit make me happy. I usually run it through a screen though, just to keep the really large pieces out.

Re: Need assistence vs csm

5 man units of Pathfinders are pretty decent at sniping out characters. With the scout special rule they're all but guaranteed to survive turn 1. As far as shooting down flyers and tanks goes, fast shot on a reaper exarch gunning an Icarus Lascannon is pretty mean, especially if he has been guided. ...
