Re: Trollblood vs Cygnar

Two cents added a little late here. Fennblades are a far more versatile unit and find homes in far more lists than Champions. They are the definitively better choice as a new-to-Trolls player. While Champs are resilient and hit very hard. They are also very slow and end up eating a lot of alpha stri...

Re: Home Brew Colossal Scenario

Craag, I had no idea you were dreaming up alternative scenarios that have specialized themes of interest. These are exactly the kinds of ideas we need to put into play testing in the shop and hold special events with some of the better ones. Some feedback on this one. First, I know you lament not ha...

Re: Iron Kingdom novels!

Hey, at least Trolls made the cut for the IKRPG. :D

Besides, I hear the authors selected are expected to produce similarly to kitchy D&D novels.

Re: Starting my first army

Start by playing some battlebox games. For two very good reasons. One, you'll be able to focus on learning game rules and mechanics. Two, once you know more about the game and maybe the people you're playing against you'll have a much better idea about how to best add to your collection.

Re: Cam's Cryx Army

Thanks for sharing. The pics really don't do them justice. Your collection is only thing I've seen stored in Tupperware that is scarier than the ones in the back of my fridge. You gotta get the painting ribbon. :)

Oh Flindo. So consistently negative.

Re: A good army for a nine year old?

My cousins all *said* the same thing. Of course they want to play with you, you're someone they look up to and want to please. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. I have a long history of introducing children to games, and Warmachine/Hordes is not a kid friendly game in general. But if yo...

Re: A good army for a nine year old?

I'll be honest, lower your expectations regarding extended engagement with the gameplay. I've worked some of my own younger cousins in, but their interests are primarily collecting and painting. The rule system is fairly complex and the game play may seem slow and tedious to many kids acclimated to ...

Re: Which would you rather field?

BE for sure, being a Troll player. It offers a unique combination of ranged/cavalry performance I can't get from anything else. As for the Mountain King, I'll just take Mulg instead.

Re: Ret player vs horde

I've had a typhoon and a ravagore shoot and just eliminate whoever was in range every turn aggainst Legion. They also tend to use forests in the game as there tends to be terrain in our games... Most of the time, barely 1 of my sentinels gets in range for a charge after that... Ok, so the Ravagore ...

Re: Ret player vs horde

Everything that Badger says, and I'll add: Hypnos, with Ossyan's Affinity, stops beasts from being forced. Ossyan's gun also makes a 4" aoe that stops models starting their activation in the template from charging. Big deal, for real. Kaelyssa's weapon steals fury away from warlocks, so shoot with h...

Re: Tomorrow will be awesome!

Oh man, I am definitely not shooting for painting points this time around. I put some base paint on the Carnivean, that is all. They're uniquely cool models, the Legion battlebox, compared to my other stuff, but it's tough for me to etch out the time to do it these days. Striders were daily deal yes...

Yeah, very pumped. I can't wait to see, errrr... not see? what eyeless sight is like! :D And just for anyone else interested, preregistration saw these numbers: Faction - Players Circle - 3 Cryx - 2 Cygnar - 1 Khador - 2 Legion - 1 Mercenaries - 4 Skorne - 3 Trollbloods - 3 Total Combatants 19 I'm r...

Re: Saturday October 13 Warmahordes 2 Player Team Tournament

I echo your sentiments JP. Probably the most fun I've had participating in a tourney to date. I'll add a nod to Dan and Cooler who were planning to play, but graciously bowed out to make sure there were an even number of teams. And thanks to Jordan, Mike, and Ayden for taking care of the admin stuff...
