Re: Space Wolves Codex Discussion.

Oh yeah, SW can become very resilient to Psychic Powers if you want to. (Heck with 6 HQs you can almost have a Rune Priest in every unit if you keep them on the cheap.)

Re: Space Wolves Codex Discussion.

Was even looking into a full three TWC squads with minimal GH guarding the back while the wolves just rush in with Wolf Lords tanking...... Ah good times ahead. With the Champions of Fenris you don't even need the Gray Hunters in the back, in fact: Add more Thunder Wolves for more exploits of the +...

Re: Only cool kids make Space Wolves lists (1000 points)

I never play with mysterious objectives. Too much book keeping and you can't really count on them, lol. Although, if you're running flyers in a 1000 point game that's kind of being a jerk. I wouldn't run flyers unless it was 1500 points and above. It's like using a land raider in a 500 point game. ...

Re: Wife has turned to 40k!!!!

White Scar gets their scouting bonus for things in Rhinos as well.

But really I don't think the Chapter tactics should be what stops anyone from painting what they want.

Re: Mwg hates us!

I stand by Matt. Who are we to tell him what he can like and not like. He has said repeatedly that he welcomes them in battle reports; that should be good enough. Agreed, but we should be allowed to discuss the facets of his claims of why he doesn't like them. (and why we don't agree with his asses...

Re: Wolf Guard idea

My issue with TH/SS Power Armored Wolf guard is that they cost the same as a terminator with the same upgrade (give or take). In effect they replace the 2+ save for a 3+ save and grenades.

Re: Stand in for Transendent C'tan

As long as he paints it metallic-ish Why? C'tans aren't inherently metalic. Night Bringer is a black bead sheet with a scythe, and the actual transcendent C'tan is a lovechild between Dr. Manhattan and Bane. I think a C'tree could be cool. In fact I am trying to figure out where I too can use that ...

Re: Spacewolves 1850

Oh yeah Ulrik became a really good character in this codex, plan to order him the next time I make a website purchase from GW.
I like the normal Wolf Priests as well, the addition of the 6+ fnp was cool, and they can take some nice upgrades.

Re: Mwg hates us!

It's a bit silly to condemn a faction in the trope namer of Grim Dark, sure DARK Eldar might be a little grimmer, and a little darker than everyone else. But in the end, it's Matts "Idea" of Dark Eldar that keeps him from them. To him the extreme hedonism is what triggers him. Doesn't matter how bad...

Re: How to paint Grey Knights ?

I always assemble marines and such fully, whatever is over the torso generally isn't visible anyways, the rest I can reach with my brush. (Takes some practice though)

For larger stuff I might to sub assembly often if two areas will have distictivelly different colors.

Re: Inquisitorial Detachement

Well with 7th there isn't any restrictions on how many detachments you can bring, and bare bone Inquisitors aren't exactly point sinks. So once you have filled your first three elites, you take a new detachment. Fluff: Inquisitors helping each other. Or in the case of abf36: The grand meeting of Inq...

Re: Spacewolves 1850

Aha, so the pack leader has the power weapon! I thought you had added a hidden one! :D I don't know about your meta, but with Maelstrom Missions I think a Predator might be good, as it gives mobility in the back field, where as Long Fangs are immobile. (but never underestimate an Ancient that has lo...

Re: Spacewolves 1850

Yeah, but the Power weapon guy replace his bolter with the PW, meaning taking a CCW on him is a bit of a waste :) I am not 100% sure if I agree with MrSchoesler on Long Fangs, with them being more expensive now I don't think it's as good a deal to max out on them. A Stormfang is a Heavy Support too,...
