Re: New Edition fear

KoW and 9th Age is pretty non-existent in our area. Once AoS started getting its bearings, people shifted back to it.

Re: New Edition fear

Casual and narrative games are fine where I'm doing. We literally just had 2 apocalypse games this weekend and they were glorious. Last one was on a 12x6 table at my place with 5v5. Even had ultramarines themed margaritas to go with the game courtesy of my waifu.

Savior Protocols vs Splash Damage

Say I hit a Ghostkeel and the drones behind it with Vortex of Doom. What happens? A) Savior protocol kicks in first and all the wounds are allocated to the drones. B) Vortex of doom hits both units first and does damage on the drones. Assuming the drones survive, they can use Savior protocols to all...

Re: Going second with Astra Militarum

Can't run Pask with Tallarn and some folks require you to paint the units to look differently if you soup up different regiment traits. Otherwise, it'd be annoyingly confusing if I ran a detachment of blood angels, a detachment of raven guard, but they're all painted ultramarines. I'm not sure what ...

Re: Beta Primaris Marines Transport Rules

There's definitely disconnect between the fluff and the gameplay of 40k and the reasons why we have these differences is supposed to be because of game balance and marketability. I'm pretty sure they said no to Primaris marines using other transports because they wanted people to still buy normal ma...

Re: SM–Advise on army

It really depends on if that's the play style you want to go for. An all mechanized list can be very effective especially with triple predators throwing kill shot down range and you focus firing on any anti tank that can hurt your army. Problem is you'll be heavily cutting into your infantry and the...

Re: SM–Advise on army

What's your general battle plan? A lot of 40k is dependent on your ability not only to destroy your opponent, but also exert as much board control for as long as you can. I would recommend dividing your forces into three layers like you would in a soccer game: Forwards, midfields, and defense. I wou...

1750 - Iyanden Warhost "Sunfury"

In preparations for the possibility of GW shifting to 1750 games as the new standard, I've designed a list that's meant to deal with the heavy tank and monstrous creature meta at my local shops so here's what I had in mind. C&C is welcome although I'll note that my collection is still pretty limited...

Re: ASTRA MILITARUM - setting up a new army

Meta is dependent on your local scene. Over here, the punisher isn't that great because we're going for tank and monster heavy which makes it not as efficient. When in doubt, magnetize.

Re: 1750 the New Standard?

I've been remaking my lists and it's definitely a fresh challenge and I have to think a bit harder what to include. Tried the format today with my Iyanden and its too short ranged and anti infantry heavy to be effective against our mech/monster leaning meta.

1750 the New Standard?

GW is shifting its tournament scene from 2000 to 1750 in the latest Warhammer World Grand Tournament packet. https://warhammerworld.games-workshop.com/the-official-2018-2019-warhammer-40000-grand-tournament/ Thoughts? Will you be adapting or bringing out the torches and pitchforks? I personally am e...

Meanwhile, I have one guy who adamantly refuses to try anything homebrew... The guy doesn't even like campaign rules, lol.
